I really don't see the harm in playing slots once in awhile. They're cheap entertainment and can pay every so often. Just with VP, you have more control over your overall payback.Speaking of payback...I got some on the wrong end this morning.  We had made a stop (okay, we went out of our way!) at the Terible's at St Joe, Missouri.  I kind of like that casino's blackjack because they still allow Surrender.  It's late surrender, meaning you can surrender after the dealer checks for a Blackjack, but it still gives a little advantage to the player.I did fairly well at BJ.  Bought in for 20 units and cashed for 30 so was ahead a bit.  They didn't have much in VP.  9/6 DB and 7/5 DDB.  I plugged in a bit on the DDB and played it for a while before tanking the buy-in.  So for the next round, I switched to the DB.  Wouldn't you know it!  Quad Aces with a 3 kicker for 800.  It really was on the first hand of DB.  Damn, I wish I'd stayed on DDB and hit that 2,000 payout!  Don't tell me about nanoseconds insuring that I would NOT have hit it on DDB!  I was so pi$$ed that consoling thoughts helped not at all <LOL>

Mike, damned if you do, damned if you don't. Do you think that staying on DDB might have influenced or changed that particular sequence any? Quad w/kickers is always welcome especially with a payout for such a hand however, your luck as well as mine could not possibly change what occured( okay maybe if you are Fa La La La La.... La la la la)

La la la la) I've played long enough and have I think, been self-educated and educated by others to know that there is no sense in trying to do the "what might have been" by changing anything contributing to the outcomes on VP. Intellectually, I know that too many factors changed (primarily the timing factor) to have produced the same hand had I not changed games.  But still, in my illogical subsconscience meanderings, I cannot help but be crushed by that turn of events In the end, I walked away +800 credits to the good and counted my blessings in coming out ahead on a Negative Expectation game!  But it COULD have been +2,000

I think of it as the "don't worry; be happy" mindset - it evens out.   You can drive yourself nuts thinking about it - so I just don't!

Sometimes the might-have-been will be better than what actually happens; sometimes the might-have-been would have turned out worse than what actually happened.

Ah CD, such a wise owl are ye. Isn't that the beauty of randomness? Mike could have just as easily played out his 800 credits and gone home with zero.Better to shake your tail feather and take the winnings small or otherwise!
  Woulda-coulda-shoulda!

IMO, there's nothing wrong with taking the money and running, even if you're still in the mood to get more play in.

I've hurt my overall ER more than once by either playing  negative return machines or not cashing out a bigger hit when the situation called for it. Still, I never said I did'nt enjoy it. Thank you sir, may I have another?
