Dear Mike A.,  let's suppose over the long haul you and your wife played the same amount of money, her on slots and you on video poker, whom do you feel  has come out ahead money wise over the years.  Would your wife agree with your answer?

I play penny slots only when I need to rack up a few comp dollars. My casino calculates more comp dollars for slots than video poker. And actually I find some of slots fun and have done ok with winnings. But my heart belongs to v.p.

That is a very good question BS.  I do wish I had records that I could go back to review.  My gut feel is that I am FAR ahead of her in overall return over the years, but that has to include Blackjack because I play both VP and BJ interchangeably on nearly all trips to the casino.  The exception to that is when we go to Oklahoma...I will not play blackjack and pay an ante for every hand! What I'll stick my neck out and say is that in almost ever trip we make where I play nothing but VP, I come out a WHOLE lot closer to even than my wife's slot play.  I may be up or down but it averages out for me without a lot of variation from the norm (the norm being break even). This past trip really was an exception.  I've never played that long and got so few quads so I was really down badly for the trip with just VP...probably in the neighborhood of $175 on nickel VP.  I made up most of that on Blackjack tables though so I came home almost even for the trip.My wife will have a big win every once in a while, but more often than not, she comes back well below even.  I think that she would definitely agree with me that with my VP play PLUS my Blackjack play, I am well ahead in total of her results.  And, unless I'm playing advantage Blackjack, my bankroll requirements are far less than hers.About those two "big hits" last week I mentioned:  They were NOT enough to bring her back to "even" for the trip.  How much?  Well, I don't talk about her results other than in the most general terms.

What Mike is trying to say in a round about manner(i hope) is that you never argue with a woman about money or love. Even if you're up for the the session or over a given period, you have to give that edge to the woman because she'll likely walk with more winnings where the man might stay and play just"a few more." Tough to say whos more disciplined but you shouldn't draw lines based on gender!
