Re: Big split at Harrahs St. Louis
Right, Mamma..back then 3oak or a foyal dealt, usually ended up filling your hand. It just did. I think one only needs to look at the casinos today, and how empty they are to see how things have changed. I want to play for alittle while on THEIR money, not always have to purse dive to keep going. If it is reported that a casino is really loose all the time, they are the ones that will get the business. The casinos whine that their revenues are way down..well boo-hoo. It's tight at my house too, but we still go. You guys are taking out our video poker machines at record paces and replacing them with the penny slots, but we still come. When things get bad, these whirlwind CEO's and corporations just tighten them up, tighten them up ..well, if you loosened them up to give everyone a chance, you would again fill up the place. Oh, yes, thats right, you can't refigure a machine. Hockey shovels!!! Years ago at the Ramada Express in Laughlin, early in the AM, someone came to each machine with a simple key, opened the top, and kept track of what had been paid out that day. They knew we were watching. How many royals, 4oaks, etc. and you could plainly see the payout history. 2 machines sitting side by side, had vastly different pay outs. You just followed the girl with the key to find your next machine. I don't see them doing that now.

I simply stated that back where you could only gamble in Nevada or Atlantic City, 99% of the payoff where 4000- RF; 250 -St.Flush, 125 - 4OAK; 45 fullhouse; 30 flush and 25 for a straight, then dropped quickly to 20; etc . The payouts may differ now, but the amount of hands that are payable are different. When I get my hand dealt out and it looks like 6..8.4.2.9 before the draw, but deals these type of hands over and over, that to me is not paying off. The rareity of hands that are payable are different. This is from experience, year after year of experience. After awhile, you tend to catch on. It just isn't the same..doo-da,doo-da.
I agree 100% I don't care what the math says or the gaming commission. When you play as much as some of us do it obvious when adjustments are made and I am not talking about the paytables or nickle dime poker. At the medium to high limit its different today than several years ago.

Hey they can't turn them off 100% of the time...
opps I should not have said that
But serioulsy, that is the 2nd RF I had this year at that casino. Year before I had 9, granted I don't play there as much since they changed the chips and I would not have been there if the Royal was not so high. But based on my points I should have hit at least 5 by now.

Well, I must be the exception to all this but I've won more in the last few years (year to year) than ever before. I've been playing since the early 90's. Granted there are a few sessions that really want to make you hang it up, but overall Mine have been great (I know, "lucky you)
