Even though you made a mistake I think this kind of exercise is an excellent way to get a better feeling for how VP game returns are computed. Making a mistake even helps as it required additional focus on the overall approach.

I agree. But I was really hoping the answer would be that winpoker is assuming someone playing 9/5 is better at special plays than someone playing 9/6.
