Re: The Dreaded Two Pair

I have always thought straight flushes should pay a lot more than they do because it seems to me it is much easier and more common to hit a quad than a SF.  I can't give up my DDB because I would see a kicker in my sleep if it was there on DB.   Less volatile-can't disagree but this is the method of play that I have chosen.  As far as the 2-pair dilemma, I almost always go for the full boat-40 or 45 credits on DDB is not chopped liver in my opinion.

Keeping the 2 pairs is correct play in DDB except when there is 2 Aces-then keep the 2 aces. In jokers wild they pay 500 for a straight flush which is more in line with the difficulty of getting it!

Now if they were'nt so damn stingy with the pay on the royals(500~wild or natural), i would really like the game.

If one really likes straight flushes then All American (AA) pays 1000. Too bad it's so difficult to find.

If one really likes straight flushes then All American (AA) pays 1000. Too bad it's so difficult to find. You'll sometimes see that AA game called "USA POKER" too.  Now THAT's a game that will give you headaches if DB gives them to you!  In AA, you are going for inside straights, throwing away a counting pair to draw to a 3-card straight flush, drawing to 3-card flushes almost over any two high card combination except suited....It's ALIEN!  But, it does have a good 100.7% Return if played at full pay perfectly!  26% variance too.I have this game at Isle of Capri (KC) at the quarter level FULL PAY.  I've heard that they have it at Prairie Band Casino (north of Topeka, KS) at the quarter level. As far as I know, these are the ONLY Full Pay games ANYWHERE in Kansas and Missouri!

ARGGGGGGGGGG is right.  I've had that happen to me.  Almost makes you want to drop every dealt 4 cards to the Royal.

Jokers Wild is a game I never really played a lot, but I have friends who play Double Joker religiously and love it.  If you have the cash to burn and can play dollars all day you can make some serious scratch-so I'm told.

Really? I have never played double joker but the winpoker paytable shows a 98.1% payback. What is the paytable your friends are playing?

He is referring to a game that foxwoods used to have at the $5 level a few years back. Difficult game. Paytable link:http://wizardofodds.com/videopoker/tabl ... joker.html
