Full house or go for the aces?

I was playing 100 draw super double double bonus poker today on the site. I had a full house with three aces and two fives--that pays 4000. I decided to throw away the fives and go for four of a kind in aces. I ended up making more than the 4,000 but afterwards was thinking that was not my brightest move. What was the right play in that situation?

I think I looked this one up the other day and it was the Aces for DDB. I might be wrong though (sorry, can't check right now). I was playing 50 play and I only had to hit a couple Aces to make up for all those lost full houses. It paid off in my case.

I think you did the right thing. On multiline games I play dealt hands the same way I'd play them on single line. I think STP might be an exception to that when a multiplier comes up, but since I'm not an STP expert you'd have to check with someone else.

Whenever you have a situation in which you consider keeping a full house vs. tossing the pair and going for quads, you can either resort to Clint Eastwood (“Do you feel lucky?”) or resort to the numbers. The numbers say that on average you will get 46 quads for every 968 sets of unimproved trips. So you need to determine whether 46 gains (G) are worth 968 losses (L). Or is G > 968/46 L.
