I have been trying to find a strategy guide online for OEJ and have had no luck. Does anyone know of one or is there another game like jokers wild that i could base my strategy and keep my mistakes minimal? Thanks

You have two options at this time. You can use the strategy at vpgenius.com which is rather difficult to follow or you can buy wolf video poker (wolfvideopoker.com) which generates strategies for OEJs. Right now there is a sale where you can get $10 off either version. BTW, which paytable are you looking for and where are you playing?

I could add (as shadow has said many times) that this game's strategy is really quite dissimilar to Double Joker even though both have two wild cards.

Wayne, that is where I play most often as well. Used to play more at the Grand in Hinckley but not recently.

Nice. Have you had better success at TI or do you just like it better?

Also do you think that just using vpgenius.com right now to get a hang of OEJ is fine? and then when i get better to buy WVP

The big reason for me is TI is quite a bit closer to my house. I like the machines at the Grand better (graphics) and they have more choices. I also like the restaurants better. However, the Grand cut back on CB a year ago so they aren't as nice anymore. As for using vpgenius ... I've never used it. I built my own OEJs strategy 15 years ago and have been using it ever since. I got WVP to make it easier to practice. It also has a nice bankroll tool and many other games. In my opinion if you are going to gamble you should own a software tutor. The potential savings compared to the cost is huge.
