The Dreaded Two Pair
I'm sure this has been discussed, I just can't find it.
Deuces Wild and Bonus Deuces Wild - Hold two pair and hope for the even money trip and/or full house, or throw away one pair and draw to the remaining pair?
Double Bonus Poker (and any game that only pays 1 on two pair) - We know that you generally would hold two low pairs (except possibly, 2, 3, or 4s). But what about two high pair or 1 high and 1 low pair? Keep only the high pair? Or go for the full house? Is it dependent upon the pay table?
Thanks for all of your help and analysis, you've already saved me money!

1) If FH and 4oak pay the same hold the two pair, otherwise (4oak pays more) only a single pair. I think this is true for all types of deuces.
2) Only Aces are dependent on the pay table, hold two pair in all other cases. For Aces, keep two pair if the FH pays 10, otherwise hold just the Aces.
You can find the answers to all these questions with a good software program like vipoker, VPfW, winpoker or FVP.

In DW or BDW hold one pair when full house pays 15(assuming full load). If full house pays 20, hold both pair.
Don,t play DBP, someone else can help or download VP for Winners from this site. It has all the stategy for bunches of games.

DB is a good game with the right pay tables. In fact, I'm switching over to it from DDB. Less volatile. I'd posted a reply but must have not hit "ENTER". Shadowman covered it though.

Nope, I played BDW at Casino Windsor a lot. My wife learned DB but with my trying to stay on top of AC Two pair, DB makes my head hurt.

True, the strategy is a bit more complex than most VP because of the bonus hand values. I saved it for my third alternative and after getting JOB and then DDB down, I started on DB. It has become my favorite of the single line games so far. It has a great return at full pay and has variance that is about halfway between JOB and DDB which will normally tend to make your bankroll last longer than DDB if you are not hitting quads. Another thing I've found. In casinos, most that do not even offer JOB will have DB in the inventory though not always at full-pay. Even the 9/7 version rivals JOB in return so it is more readily found on the casino floors than some of the other games. The only reason I can think of for this is that because the strategy to win with it is more difficult than most of the games, fewer players play it correctly and the casinos profit from this while still offering a game that mathematically, is one of the best in the house!

I guess it is those Flush holds I see her making? ( From other posts, you know they are my nemisis, but I have been convinced. I will try it.

I agree that it can make the head hurt , but DB is a good one to play.

Mike T.Yeah, three-card flush holds over two unmatched pair (except J/Q) drives me nuts too! The other one that gets me is holding for an inside Jack-high straight over two high cards. Or holding for a low ball straight with the option to hold the Ace singleton. I seem never to hit those, but they are the correct play. But I will say this: I've hit more straight flushes with DB than any other game I've played! Of course that may be because I play a rare DB game at an Indian Casino that is 9/6/5 with straight flushes paying 400 and aces paying 1000. The strategy changes enough that I seem to be going for more straight flushes than with full-pay or 9/7 DB.
