Curious to hear thoughts on these two games. For the contests here, I usually play Triple Double because of the payoff for 4 aces with kicker....which rarely happens for me, and hence I am usually never in the top 100 finishers..

Wondering others thoughts on this game, whether the version on this site, or in a real casino.

Same here - I play triple double to try for the big aces for the contest- In casino my only game is double double triple up.

TDB is my favorite game but only allow myself to play it in the casino when I've built up my bankroll or just a few hands to test it out. On here I play it almost exclusively. And I rarely make it to the top ten either. But at least it's free. 😌

With contests, the more variant game, the better since the lucky hit becomes the prime objective in these contests. In real life casino play, best expected return/low variant is usually the best option, but not always depending on your particular goal. My personal opinion, and it's just that, is I don't touch triple double bonus anymore except in extreme circumstances like if its the best ER game around with points/multipliers combined, high progressive, a want to gamble, so forth. (Those exceptions have not materialized in a long time).
I'm fortunate enough to play near me a .25c 10/6 double double bonus game with a slight prog Royal and that's usually the game I go to when I want to strap on the seatbelt and ride the roller coaster. Like I said, my opinion and to each their own.
PS Warning label: usual find TDB players long term go broke...due to skyrocket variance, I wouldn't recommend it, but it's a great game to gamble and a lucky session can really pad the wallet. Take it for what it's worth.

I avoid both in a real casino. I don't even want to kick the tires here for fear of addiction.

In the casino the variance of TDB at 100 is too much for me normally. That said, I did have a nice $500 hit on TDB earlier this year getting dealt quad 3's and getting ace kicker on the draw. Was just a $20 pot shot. Lightning happens. Normally stick to DDB though.

I would never play TDB in a casino for real money.  Playing on this website, you must play high variance games in order to win consistently.  I find the biggest difference between DDB and TDB to be the payout for three of a kind.  This makes TDB a real loser the vast majority of the time.  With TDB, even if you hit a good hand the game will quickly take back your profit so you must sit on your score.  I usually play TDB for 300 coins then switch to DDB just to get it out of my system.  You can't win with a 4,000 coin jackpot if you're already down 4,000 points! 

I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I have a question. I call it my K 10 dilemma in DDB. It seems like I get conflicting strategies depending on the training software source. Does anyone have a simple explanation for when to play K 10 suited, of course?

Same thing happened to me recently at LAuberge in Lake Charles. The TBD machine appeared to be brand new and was very clean. I placed a $100 bill in ($1) and about halfway through was dealt four 3's and an 8. On the draw I pulled a four for $2K. I took the hand pay and never touched that machine again. That was a crazy trip. In a two night stay I hit 17 4OAk's. When I get tired of thinking I will occasionally throw a $100 at a video keno game. I hit 6 of 6 for 3K. I came home with a pocket full of cash. One trip like that will keep you coming back.
