Got a new iPad for Christmas but can't get either the contest nor a game to load. Can the games run on an iPad?

No, apple blocks the use of Flash Player on the ipad and iphone, so until they change their mind about that, the games will not be playable on the web site.

There is an app called iSwifter which simulates flash player browsing on the iPad. I was able to play the games and contests using that a while back (I think it cost a buck or two) and it worked pretty well. I haven't tried it in a while though, and it's not officially supported. It might be worth a try.

Thank you - I'll keep it in mind but I think I better get more familiar with it first.

FYI - I use the ISwifter app for the VP.com site all the time and it works quite well. Once in awhile it does run into a problem with a slow connection and logs me out but all in all it is a great app to have if you want to play VP.com on your IPad. Hope this helps
