Over the weekend I was in AC. My VP play was terrible. I couldn`t buy a card unless I went the gift shop and buy the whole deck! ! ! !      So I went to theboardwalk and watch the beach replenishment . AC is rebuilding the beach by pumping sand from the channel to the beach in front of the casino`s

I think the federal govt help pays for this. I`m not sure.

I saw that this past week myself Jim-my husband and I were wondering if it was paid for with tax dollars and are they going to do it all along the shoreline. We at first were wodering if the Revel owners were having it done.

I think they are going as far as the Hilton. I am sure the Revel casino had a little influence in the matter.
This will be done in time for the airshow in Aug 17th so more people can sit on the beach to watch the show.

Could it be this is being done to prevent erosion. Or maybe to prevent the next hurricane to come up the coast from washing the beach away?

The beach all along the boardwalk got very small over the last few years so they are replacing/extending the beach from what it looks like to me.

It's possibly ACE (Army Corp of Engineers) work being done. Yes thats federal dollars being spent if it is.

They do this about every 8 to 10 years. The ACE does get involved because it`s the coastal shoreline. But every year those Nor`eastern storms or a hurricane washes the sand back into the ocean.  The reason for the dunes is to protect the Boardwalk and the beachfront properties.
