wtf   revenue increases 11% and they STILL lose a boatload?   I guess basic math is no longer a requirement of management these days.....of course I am being facetious, but then again, not really......its un-fuggggin-believable. After reading this article (and thanks to jimdeuces for posting it) I just booked my final, LAST stay at AC club for the sunday-monday after newyears.   I better use up all the comps and stuff pronto. If chris christie runs for prez in 2016, the whole Revel-ATlantic city mess-managment issue will rear its ugly head in the republican primaries, i guarantee you, especially his vouching and pushing for the Revel deal.    Delusion, cognitive dissonance is alive and well in al facets of our government(s) .... State, Federal, Local  etc.  This is really sad, that little "boutique" hotel-casino, even though I hardly won a friggin dime there, was a nice change of pace from the bloated dull larger places up the rest of the boardwalk.  I like their rooms and their hot tubs, and I felt relaxed and comfortable when staying there.    Unreal......

Better hurry...
2 buyers acquire assets of bankrupt N.J. casino
The Atlantic Club Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., has found two buyers at bankruptcy auction. However, neither buyer plans to keep the casino in operation. Caesars Entertainment paid $15 million for the casino's land and other assets, while Tropicana Entertainment acquired the casino's slot machines and table games for $8.4 million. The Atlantic Club will close its doors on Jan. 13. The Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.)

anyone have any last messages or goodbye they want me to convey to the AC club or the people that work there? I am booked january 5 and 6 at AC Club, so I'll be able to see the death throes and last minute scrambles to pick the place clean, as people hurry and use up all their comps and stuff.  This is really sad......I stayed at the old Boardwalk/Holiday INN in Vegas in January, 2006 on the VERY last weekend they were open before being demolished to make way for the monstrous abomination that became THE COSMOPOLITAN......such experiences are surreal, as the employees are all in a funk and the bars and restaurants are giving away free food and drinks to clear out inventory.   I'll report back on what I see and observe at the AC club, I will still be in AC on January 12 and 13 when the place finally shuts down for good....I'm playing in a poker tourney (several that week.)

Olds, do you (or have you) EVER been to AC?     If you are interested, let me know here in this thread. If anyone else is going to AC the week from January 2 through at least January 10 (or even as far as January 13), pipe up in this thread and lets try and get together and say "farewell" to this latest casualty of AC's war with itself and common business sense!    I will treat anyone who meets up to a Gallaghers Burger and Beer!

My plans are to come down and stay at Showboat, on Wed the 8th.  My goal is to pay all day on Thursday the 9th which is a 10 x comps day.

Haven't been down to A/C in 20 years or so. Maybe in the summer as a little side trip. Burger and beer sounds good. Thanks. I stay close to home in the winter. Have elderdy folks to take care of. Thank God I still have them. Hmmmm.....just thinking, I am elderly myself...Oh well, the senior discounts are nice
