thanks for posting the article. i always thought the $12-13 cost of taking a cab for a mile or two, was a complete rip off, but i am not sure these trams will make much of a difference. it was impressive to see how many people walked the boardwalk. some were handicaped, some of us are overweight, a lot of folks walked. making predictions sets one up for ridicule, but, it if was a betting guy, i would guess AC best days are long gone. they blew it, had the only game eastern USA and never re-invested in the area. then they began ripping off the players. the politicians, the management, the unions are all responsible. it is the only gaming area i ever went, where they gave me the impression, they were doing me a favor, coming to lose money. and, the biggest offender of all, were the CET properties. they were arrogant.

years ago AC had a tram running the length of the boardwalk so you could casino hop.glad they are bringing it back.I never had the chance to see or experience this tram, since I did not start visiting AC until 2009, and the death spiral had already begun (although I must say, even then, during the first 2 years or so, 2009 and 2010, things were still remotely similar to the previous "good years", but after 2010, the BAD times really accelerated, right about the time all the so called "HELP" and "Initiatives" from the government supposedly came online......)Although I would like to be able to have a positive outlook on this development, it is not possible....I am not the type to delude myself on topics such as this.......notes1 is totally correct.   This move (rebuilding the tram) is ridiculously late, and ineffectual.   Look at the Boardwalk:   with both the AC club and Trump Plaza GONE, there is a huge gaping hole between Tropicana and the center of the boardwalk ("park Place"  where Ballys/Caesars resides)    And unless someone or something really, truly does revive the location where REVEL died an ugly death, the usefulness and effectiveness of a "TRAM" remains fleeting at best, a total waste at worst.Besides, Notes1 is also correct about the need (and desire) of many people to do some actual WALKING (or in my case wheeling) to and fro......America desperately needs its exercise with an obesity rate of 40% and a OVERWEIGHT index of over 50%!!!!!      I mean come on people, MOVE!!   We all are not as strong and in shape as Tedlark !!!

Thank you for the compliment DaBurglar. Maybe somewhere in the future I can reciprocate?
