Trip Report 2Q Onward

Post by FAA »

I had a decent day at Caesars. On my first machine, $25 FP became $41 thanks to a quad. Someone two machines down had four diamonds to RF. He got it. That makes three of the six machines on the island where I have gotten or witnessed a RF. Very confident in the integrity of this area now. He crossed himself afterwards. What an insincere empty gesture! He could have at least done this beforehand. He cashed out and inserted more funds, which promptly dispensed even more profit. I lost my crap bet, unable to hit a five before my seven. Back to VP; $20 profit on another quad. Almost as good as a seven. I tried my hand at Bally's, winding up at my old RF machine. Alas, lightning would not restrike. After much angst with $500 coin in and 700 hands, a quad for a big four dollar net win. I discovered what was so uncomfortable about this bank. The bright light of the opposite bank of machines creates too much distraction. Their images are cast right onto our screens! Back at Caesars for quad four, which actually cost me $10. I made $7 of it back on another machine; $550 coin in sans quad. Back to you in the studio.

Same schizophrenic split between the two casinos today. I made $20 from my $25 FP. Of course I tried to double it. Lost it and inserted another $20. $250 coin in later, a quad gave me the same amount I had at the conclusion of FP. Thanks for nothing, machine. Lost my craps bet. I sat out a clumsy shooter who rolled snake eyes. I figured he couldn't crap out on consecutive rolls. This time he crapped the table out on three. I resisted the urge to curse him out. Off to Caesars. I came, I saw, I hardly conquered. I made an additional $2 on VP on three more quads and $1150 coin in. The quads came right on average. I toggle between three and five coin bets to ensure at least $19 for a quad. I fell $150 coin in short of another entry in their $2M spring promotion. Had I left Bally's sooner I would have reached it. I did get a quick $10 upon exit as I was rolled a seven on the felt. The high limit room slots were on fire as I passed through. Bally's, $2,100. Caesars had wins of $12,000, $2,000 and $2,000 that I witnessed. Harried attendants were scampering. That's it from here in snowy AC. Camera man needs to thaw out.

I managed to win $68 on VP today. The game changer was craps, a record $65 win for this rookie. Good way to stretch after the VP as well. No time to even have lunch. I was too consumed in the gambling yet again. My last quad at Caesars was so overdue, after $550 coin in, so over seven hundred hands. Quite stressful. I wanted to take a break but feared missing the quad. I became so frustrated that I only bet two coins. Ulcers must be common in casinos.

Easy for me to say because on my last session I not only skipped lunch due to a lack of quads, wild royals, and 5 of a kinds, but lost my discipline ( again ) and ended the session down more than I care to post about. The quads will come on job, just like the quad deuces will come on deuces wild play. We just have to take breaks, if necessary just wait until the next time, and not succumb to human weakness and failed intuition. Very easy for me to type this. Much harder to do. In my case, I need the Mrs. there, a lock box, and a buddy system to keep things in order if the game is not going my way. If it is going well, no problem with discipline. If not, the above happens, 9 out of 10 times.

Sorry to hear, Olds. You really went off the rails. Ninety quad free minutes or $500 coin in, whichever comes first, is my breakdown spot. Anxiety level soars at that point. One out of every five machines produces such a dry spell, I reckon. It's a slow burning fuse to full on panic. And this machine was actually net positive throughout! If I was losing, the fury would have been epic.

Last week's TR missing due to grief. I lost $100, including an ill advised ATM visit. I avenged the loss today with élan. I won $56 in a strict 65 minutes at Bally's. Goal was an hour flat, but I sensed my second quad of the day was imminent. Sure enough, I forced the issue and got it max coin. My first was a mere $12.50, giving me the same $24 I won from FP. Then craps. I was told that the short balding Asian man had been on a one hour roll, but too afraid to bet and lost out on even more of his streak. After he finally crapped out to applause, I bet. Lucky that a lady hit $25 FP eleven for me. After a cage visit, I ran into Captain Craps taking a load off at a slot machine. Apparently he was in a giving mood! I came, I saw, I conquered at Caesars. $35 VP win. Max quad after only $250 coin in, perfect outcome. Lost $50 before an impressive rebound! I feared the worst. Spring in my step, I walked up to Tropicana for a lunch deal and took a jitney back. Tram luck was poor. Nice going home a winner and even restoring balance and sanity on a trip. Fellow VP Zombies, you can do it!

Pretty good Bally's visit yesterday. I made $60 from my $25 voucher. It should have been much more, but the same NYC bus imbecile duo wrecked my concentration, as they do weekly. The one with Stan build was already playing, so I felt confident in sitting down. Of course, not five minutes later Ollie shows up and they start their usual over the top Russian yelling that passes for conversation. Result: one coin play on a hot machine. Thankfully, I later made $55 on craps. I will no longer be playing at Bally's. Thanks for the RF. Stan and Ollie can be another bad AC memory in my rear view. At packed Caesars I managed to play a lot and lost only $2 VP. Unfortunately, I decided on more craps play and lost $90 on that in two plus hours. No lunch again. You stay, you pay. I think that's it for 2016 craps play! The last thing I need is another casino vice. I've concluded that the only thing I'm good at is VP. Stray from the specialty and you get hammered.

Total Caesars JOB zombie today. I got $65 from $25 FP. Then I lost $62 on the adjacent machine. Then a dreaded ATM walk of shame. I lost $5 then got four to a Straight Flush. The blessed Seven Diamonds showed up. I jumped up and down like it was a RF! $62.50 was a godsend at this point. In between I lost $50 on craps, a game I must certainly dump ASAP! Elderly Seven Stars lady next to me suggested to keep playing, as it was my lucky day. I left town in a heartbeat. Dinged up again by craps, otherwise holding my own. Not too bad. I lived to tell the tale. Notched another Straight Flush; ahead of schedule on those as well. The takeaway this week: craps is crap. Stay away. Delighted that the big hot allows me to return tomorrow if I desire.

I spent two solid hours on one super tight machine yesterday with $750 coin in. Like waiting two hours for a pot to boil. I finally got the damn quad. But playing scared by then, so only two coins. Result: up a buck on the machine, tired eyes and back. A weightlifter belt or corset for my posture would have helped. I cursed out the machine three times, just to relieve the stress. Yet someone won $176,000 on Ultimate X just last month here. $2 tram for $11 lunch at Tropicana. Won a quick $5 there on an apparently playable $1 JOB and walked back to Caesars. Of course more JOB. Hit a quad for $14 gain. Kept playing, gave it back plus $15. I made $30 after trip cost. Okay considering I lost $25 FP table bet. Key to leaving a winner is avoiding craps. Woefully snakebit on felt. Maybe I should have stayed on that $1 Trop VP. A Tropicana RF is nice for the bucket list. Wish I knew when to quit. If the damn Progressive is a lousy $1,010, skip it entirely! Yawn. Bob Dancer mentality would serve me well when I see this paltry sum. Earlier I got a quad on Caesars $1 JOB, but only $3 net win after my $29 dwindled to $7. Even with the insane two hour icebox grind, it feels good not to get screwed again on craps. I hope to have gotten it out of my system. 1.4% house edge indeed.
