Goodbye Mr. Tillerson

Rex Tillerson is done......the entire state department is rudderless, almost empty.   Five of the top six positions (Secretary and deputy undersecretaries) are now vacant, pending confirmation of the one deputy (Sullivan) that Tillersontabbed to fill his role until a permanent person is appointed.Tillerson (in my opinion) was a good man....competent.  He certainly did not deserve the treatment he received, nor the lack of support and direction he was not provided by his so-called "boss"....."Chemistry" is a relative term, and it is NOT a vital element in a relationship with a chief executive and his secretaries.   In fact it is a GOOD thing when there are differences of opinions between a president and his cabinet, so long as they all realize their ultimate aim is to what is best for the NATION they were appointed to serve,   Trump cares NOT at all about that, he is more concerned with HIS situation, HIS relationships, and HIS way getting done.  Tillerson hit it on th ehead when he called Trump a "(something)" MORONHighest turnover EVER in an administration since.....since.....I'm still looking.....since.....I'll get back to you on that (I want to say EVER but my keen sense of historical perspective tells me to hold off on saying "ever" until I dig a little more, because technically there have been several UNIQUE circumstances in past administrations.....)Regardless, Trump's "presidency" is a monumental farce.   You would not run a gas station the way he runs the white house, let alone the whole administration.Openly, defiantly Misogynistic, adulterer who carouses with porn stars, blatantly racist, gleefully, willfully, proudly ignorant on just about every issue of importance.Well done America.......Putin's coming for your Social Security and retirement funds.

Thanks for essentially making my point in a far more simpler format, although my initial post I intended initially to just be a tribute to Mr Tillerson, who really is a good competent man who got the shaft. But as soon as one objectively starts looking at what is going on with this administration, one realizes just how totally awful it is, and how so far the US of A is lucky there hasn't been anything really serious (yet) demanding cool competent bonafide leadership and decision making....

It's not a matter of liking or disliking ( or despising) the individual known as Donald Trump, or being a Democrat or Republican, conservative, liberal, centrist etc. He is starting to actually, seriously imperil this nation with his idiotic ways and narcissistic tendencies.

There is no way any other president, especially the previous guy, would be allowed to skate on the crap Trump has been involved in.... it's absolutely ridiculous.

But you're right, I did say I curtail political rants this year...although what actually constitutes a rant versus simply making a statement or point is open to interpretation....what I posted above, initially meant to be a Rex Tillerson tribute, skirted "rant territory"...


I respect what you said Ted...l'd like to point out though, One of the freedoms of our great country is people are allowed to change their minds, and since my own...." Edict"....applied to me and was of my own volition, and thus, non-binding, I chose to make an exception.

Regardless of how many actual times I have "violated" myself, as a whole I'm considerably down, both in number and volume of political related discourse since January first, and I've kept it to the appropriate "Anything" section.



Still, I will continue and try to limit politics to rare if ever posting topics.... I just really truly am concerned about what's happening with this administration and the country as a whole, and Rex definitely deserved better.

I know this is a VP forum, and I even played a bunch of hands just yesterday ( caught aces with kicker too)...but...Doesn't anyone else even care what the hell is going on with the country, the world or this administration???!?! Even if you LOVE Trump, what are you basing that on, and what do you make of record turnover, porn stars, blatant conflicts of interest, nepotism (i.e. appointing his son-in-law, with zero experience and no formal qualifications, to such vital, critical positions that impact the world)?

How about the fact the guy flies to Florida EVERY weekend (unless he makes a rare overseas trip) and has already golfed more in 14 months than Obama did in his first four years ( this after excoriating Obama, and politicians in general, for golfing too much!)??


Why is this all of a sudden such " forbidden " topic, especially in that section of the forum specifically devoted for such topics??
