Re: The "New" VP machines/games
one good piece of news )possibly)......when Showboat shutters, CET in Atlancit city will have all those "old style" single chip games from the showboat to dispose of.......I am hoping that management redistributes some of them BACK into and around the other three AC properties.I know for a fact that CET-AC has received LOTS and LOTS of complaints about their new VP machines, and during my last stay in AC a few weeks ago, when I paid my regular visit to the New Jersey Gaming Division Office on Tennesse Avenue, when I asked the attending employee(s) "what's new?", after talking about the rumored Showboat closing the conversation segued into other topics and this was one of them, how as many as 4 or 5 people per day are complaining to the NJ gaming Div about the new-style Video poker machines at CET properties, as well as Revel.....I urge you all to check in with the office as well! (They are just off the boardwalk right on the corner, in betwixt two other shops but the visito entrance is around the side on Tennessee avenue, hours typically during the BUSY summer are 9 am to 5 pm Monday-Thursday, and 10am to 7 pm on Friday......also open usually one saturday a month for a few hours but varies quite a bit)

? They are legal machines or they would never be on the floor. Complain to casino management and only play the old style machines...that's the only message they will get. They know what is and is not used on the floor.

Back another lifetime ago when I was playing more "Chicago" softball, using the 16" Clincher, there were people who wouldn't play until a new ball was softened up through play. I tried to find the office of the Chicago softball gaming commission to investigate if any rules were being broken by using new 16" Clincher softballs because fingers were being sprained but I just couldn't get any answers. I kept going to their office but to no avail.

Wow I bet you knew the address off the top of your head even huh? You should have told people to go complain!

They know what is and is not used on the floor.I was not clear in my first post on this subject....the people have been complaining to the NJ gaming comm office about how UNCOMFORTABLE and difficult the new machines are to play video poker, NOT about anything illegal (although no doubt people are complaining about that too as they always do, but legality and fairness are not my main points....THIS time)I guess some people see this as a NJ Gaming Comm issue, the lousy feel and play of the new machines....probably because they cannot get anything out of Caesars management on this subject, other than a "sorry you feel that way....we will take it under advisement etc etc"I suppose if people are really making mistakes at a alarming rate because the new machines are so hard with the buttons and uncomfortable...it does speak to fairness I guess.

The worse part is the casinos may just see it as further evidence that VP is wasted room on the floor if people don't play them. Pretty soon it will be all 1c machines that take 3-5 dollars a spin...UGH!

On my list of people to complain to about uncomfortable seats, the "gaming division office" would not be near the top.

Ditto for the ones at Harrahs AC, totally B.S. Hard enough to win without having sticky buttons that don't work or bounce off the hold button only to find you drew without holding the card you thought you did. Don't understand that during mid week when casino is usually dead that they don't fix these problems.

[QUOTE=billyjoe]I figure that the new machines need to get 'broken in' a bit, which should make the buttons more responsive.
yes well that certainly goes without saying! If I found a machine that pays out, I'd probably put up with anything short of internal bleeding to keep playing......!

Based on your previous essays, I'd be betting on the "INTERNAL BLEEDING", over you finding a VP game in A/C that pays out.
Just saying,

The casino that takes the gold for worst IGT machines has to be the M Resort(machines near the cashier.) They are one generation older than the machines talked about on this thread. Cant set a drink on the machine(slant top) because it is angled chrome metal and the buttons always stick. Every time Ive attempted to play on these machines half of them had issues.
