So then, are taxes paid due to generating w2g's applied towards even less money netted?

Hello there New2vp, nothing sinister or crazy going on here, just seeking answers to questions from the most qualified people I know concerning the game of video poker. I'm just making a point if you saw results like this there would be little if anything the player could do other than piss and moan about it and questioning the fairness of the game would come easy to the player involved whether he be right or not. While the odds of the player being that unlucky may be long, the possibilty is still there, along with other varibles such as the skill level of the player and the actual amount of hands played. Anyway it's no big deal, just kicking some numbers around and playing along with the thread.

Hey poke, well good luck. If you do see this kind of result, it probably wouldn't hurt much to try other venues.

I would definitely try other venues.
I thought pokeherguy already made that choice and went back to Tunica casinos.

If I understand your question and it refers to Income Tax, W2G's are counted toward your income and then you can deduct losses up to the total of the W2G's.

LL has it right, you can deduct all losses up to the total of your wins. However, you can't do this and use the standard deduction. So, many people end up paying taxes even though they are net losers for the year.
In addition, the winnings are added into one's total AGI which can impact other things like medical deductions and Social Security taxes. The IRS does not like gamblers.

Yeah I've pretty much stuck to Tunica but the trip down there is like going thru a war zone with all the road construction taking place. I've really got to be in the mood or have work to do around those parts because a two hour one way drive could end up taking me quite a bit longer. I did play at a small casino around Greenville, Ms. that was very new, we stayed in a very nice hotel, had a good meal, the vp was not the best as far as paytables go but I did pretty well despite that fact both nights I was there and earned more than enough points to get 2 very nice blankets. I visited another Tunica casino on the way back home and they had zero $1 or above vp games so I slugged the slots for a few minutes and hit the road home. We also went to New Orleans and they had a few casinos and what looked to be lottery terminal vp machines availible at some of the local bars. I'm hoping to get to Vegas for the first time maybe sometime in January if things work out, my wife says I need to see it at least once.
If you hadn't noticed I kind of enjoy stirring the pot a little, hence my contributions to this thread thus far. I do agree that no major casino would do anything to bend the rules in the least, don't you think it might be a little naive to say that it could not exist anywhere at any anytime?

None of this all matters though. I saw at least a dozen same 5th-card flipovers today. So I'm convinced all these machines are gaffed and programmed to cheat the players.
LOL @damule
And yes I came out with "201" hit * instead of + on the little ones.
But I really think you hit the Aces more than the math says because of the way they are favored in DDB and especially in TDB.
I mean odds are you hit 2.2 AWAK for every 1 Royal.

I hit AWAK about 8 times a much as I hit a Royal.
