Good morning Webman, and to others who may have a comment on this as I saw yesterday for the first time at Siena Casino here in Reno Straight Flush Bonus Poker, at one of their bars, that pays 2000 credits (25 cents) for a Straight Flush! Any four of a kind pays 250. My question is, what is the frequency of hand? Might you know? Thank you.

Knowing the entire paytable would be helpful. And are these payouts for a 5 credit bet?
I found a paytable called straight flush bonus that looked like 8/5 jacks or better but the straight flush was 200 for 1 instead of 50 for 1. This increases the frequency of the straight flush to 1 in 6574 from 1 in 9288 I'd you use the correct strategy. 200 (SF)/8/5 JoB has a 99.21% optimal return. I have no idea if your paytable is like that. If the SF pays 400 for 1, probably not. In that case it would likely pay 1 for 1 on 2 pair or 2 for 1 on trips.

It's a five credit bet, or $1.25. One for Two Pair Its a 6/9 game. At the small bar, not the long bar. It's called Straight Flush Bonus Poker. Kind of interesting. It's progressive.

Yeah, 400/50/9/6/4/3/1/1 is the other game I thought it could be. That's a tougher game since things like 45 suited is better than garbage. With proper strategy, the game is 97.99% before any progressive.
Strategy without the progressive is listed below:

Well, I find it mildly encouraging someone finally took the straight flush and used it as a marketing tool to make the game more interesting......I always wondered, and lamented, the fact that straight flushes never paid more thant they typically do, and / or were never fully utilized to make the game(s) more fun and interesting ...Its a tough, infrequent hand that is always a pleasant surprise when it shows up! Pleasant until you realize you only won as much as a simple four of a kind in any game except JOB, and even then its only twice what quads pay (125 vs 250! I've actually hit a lot of straight flushes in the last 4 months in AC, and last week I was dealt one which I briefly considered cannibalizing for a shot at the royal (I was dealt 9 10 j q k of diamonds, sequential no less! but my sane side prevailed and I kept my 250 credits.) There is a Sequential Royal Progressive DDB Machine at Showboat that is up to $27,000 for the sequential royal and it has progressive payouts for the regular royal too along with the straight flush, and Quad Aces with a Kicker. It would be nice to get something extra for a sequential straight flush!

Actually there are a couple other games in which the payout for a straight flush is higher.

One of the reasons it's quite uncommon is that significantly upping the value of the straight flush makes strategy more difficult for the player. It doesn't nearly have as much of an effect on strategy when upping quad payouts.
This is the strategy for the game in this topic for a non-progressive Royal:

You'll note in this game, 35 suited is better than garbage. Noticing all these types of holds is not easy.

Full pay All American poker (100.72%) paid 1000 credits for a straight flush.
Even the lower return knockoff version (I think it's called US poker) has the 1000 credit straight flush.
