Mr. Dancer was present at this year Global Gaming Expo (G2E) and wrote an article about the new video poker games at CDC Gaming Reports (hosted by Jefferey Compton who is a frequent guest on Gambling With An Edge).
I am not sure about this and please do not give me flack if this is misinformation, but I've read somewhere that IGT has held patents for video poker so they've been the dominant force for video poker (unless someone can find workarounds to the patent). The 10 year patent in the US has ran out recently and now the competition is stepping in.
EDIT: I lurked on VegasMessageBoard and found out that information.
There are going to be 6 more games by IGT/Action Gaming, with 2 of them revolving everyone's favorite, ULTIMATE X!
Video poker from WMS/Scientific Games have been appearing in casinos in Nevada and they're just getting started. Native Games America, LLC is entering the fray too.
I do not wish to spoil anymore, it will be a must see for Ultimate X lovers.
CDC Gaming Reports - New Video Poker at 2016 G2E By Bob Dancer
Based on the articles I've seen for VP/ShuffleMaster/Slots and Skill based games, this year's G2E has to be one of the best ever.

We might miss things not changing because now they can. What IGT has going for them is familiarity, looks and touch. I still forget all these companies don't compete anymore and many are under the same umbrella.

Just read the link. Funny he complains about fleas when casinos might consider him a tape worm. I have no idea how he even makes money considering if you read his stuff, everything he complains about is how you would assume he makes money. I respect him, just he always puzzles me.

Just read the link. Funny he complains about fleas I didn't see anywhere in the article where he complained about fleas. The reference to fleas that I saw was in relation to casinos not liking a game that attracts them.

He didn't explicitly complain about them. But he seemed disappointed that you couldn't thwart them by completely playing them off yourself. And I feel like "flea" sounds more derogatory than "vulture". But that is probably because I am so much more used to the latter term online.
I don't ever recall reading the term "flea" for this behavior on ultimate x games on this or other forums.
Will it attract “fleas?†These are players who wait until regular
players leave the machine with bonuses of some sort to be picked off.
Generally speaking, these players are nuisances to casinos.
Can someone please explain what is he talking about here? Must be a Vegas thing?

Usually, they are called vultures. They are people who scout casinos for unknowledgeable players who play games like Ultimate X and leave the machine without playing off any multipliers.

Are you saying they are looking for someone who has played a long time without a multiplier hoping to catch one on the machine they left? Isn't that sort of like only playing only when the progressive is big?

There was a 'flea' at Beau Rivage where I played last weekend. One of the slot managers pointed him out to me and on a regular basis he would approach the Multi Streak machine next to me and go through each game looking for a left over multiplier, He looked like a flea.
