Re: Economy Hurting Indian Casino!!??
San Manuel never sends comp play. I guess they don't need to.
Incidently, if you get the Santa Anita race track mailer, there is a $10 free play coupon on the back cover.
Are you talking about the Agua Caliente casinos?
Wow, it's closed except on the weekends?

No I am talking about the Golden Moon and Silver Star. The moon is now only open one weekend.

Last weekend went to my favorite closest Indian Casino in Palm Springs, California to play a little Video Poker. I grab my monthly mailer to activate my Free Play and my Free Food Coupon. Like clockwork I've been getting $100 Free Play per week and a coupon for $50 food comp for each month. Much to my surprise, no more food coupon. I ask the promotions booth, "Is it just me"...no they have discontinued the coupons for everyone. I then activate my Free Play only to be told on Sunday its only $75??!! OK..seems kind of Chickensh..but oh well its their rules. I then notice an entire slot area is closed off with "Out of Service" banners all over. Also a number of slot islands were turned off with the same "Out of Service" Banners. I asked a Pit Boss "Whats up"? He says Business is way down and for Tax purposes they have turned off the machines. I guess the state of California charges a higher tax on casinos with the greater number of machines? Anyway, I guess all these subtle and not so subtle cuts may save the casino in the short run...but it just makes me want me to take my business elsewhere. Anybody experiencing the same sort of cutbacks?
Yea, they're cutting back. The Del Sol in Tucson has closed off their
cash cage (in the old section). I imagine they laid off a few people too.
