So he's in the middle of this "adventure" right now, but I'd love his input on just what he thinks of Reno at this very moment.....is it really a total "Dive" now as numerous people claim on many travel sites, or is it still the same ol' Reno of the past 30 years, a low key version of downtown Vegas?

We're still on the "adventure, so I don't have time to organize any sort of "to date" trip account.

With respect to Reno, we did not spend any time there at all. We were transported directly between the airport and Tahoe.

At the outset of the trip, we had three major objectives. We, of course, wanted to thoroughly enjoy ourselves, we hoped to make significant progress towards reducing 0ur 67000-68000 TC shortfall in maintaining 7 Star status at CET, and we wanted to avoid a financial trainwreck. All in all, we were pretty successful.

The flights from Buffalo to Chicago to Reno went perfectly. My concern over making the connection at Midway turned out to be unfounded, as we had plenty of time to do it. The one downside to the trip out was that we didn't start from Buffalo until 5:30 pm, so when we finally arrived at Harrahs Tahoe it was about 2am eastern time, and we were extremely tired. I learned the hard way that you shouldn't programme your room safe when you are that tired. I have no idea what code I put in, but I do know that we had to call for help the next morning to get it open.

Most of our play at Harrahs was 10 line 25c, with a small amount of single line 8/5 bonus poker mixed in. My play was exclusively 9/6 JOB, while my wife threw in some 7/5 super aces, as well. We didn't do particularly well the first couple of days. I was down around $1000, and my wife somewhat more.

On the morning of our third day, we had a spectacularly great two hour session on the 10 lines. My wife hit he aces while playing super aces, and was dealt quad threes, again while playing super aces. She finished the session up $1600. While she was doing that, I had two royals and many, many other good hands, and cashed out at plus $2150. After that, though, we net on a lengthy downward spiral, that extended through the balance of our time at Harrahs, and our short stay at the Cromwell. I had 15 negative sessions in a row, and 17 of 18, before finally breaking out of the slump with a royal during my final session at Main Street Station. My results per casino prior to moving on to our final Vegas stop at the M were Harrahs -$625, Cromwell -$500, and Main Street Station -$200. I don't have that much detail on my wife's results, but I do know they were worse than mine.

The M was relatively good to us. My wife hit a $1525 royal on the triple play 25c progressive, her only royal to date on the trip. I managed to come out ahead there by about $700 despite having no royals. I did have eight sets of deuces, and many, many good dealt hands. We did play some single line NSU deuces there, however, the bulk of our play was on the triple play progressive.

As we left Nevada, I was down, I think, $615 at the machines themselves. Cashback and MSS scratch cards totalled just under $400, leaving a deficit of around $200. My wife's, unfortunately was somewhat greater, at $1900.

Our overnight stay at Seneca Niagara on the way home erased all that. She hit a $2000 royal on 5 line 50c bonus poker, and finished up $2600 there, while I chipped in with a plus $600 result. Needless to say, we came home happy!

Our tier score at CET prior to embarking on the trip was 82195. We managed, with the help of their bonus system, to add some 54311 to that total, leaving us less than 14000 to go. We will have no problem now with getting to the 150,000 mark.

It sounds like you and your wife had a pretty exciting trip OMT and congrats for your luck while playing. I like taking advantage of CET's tier credit bonus system and there have been a couple times this year when I was up for a session that I stretched the session to take full advantage of their bonus system. Once after a long session I was sitting less than 200 points from 2,500 TC's earned for the session so I stretched it out to grab the additional bonus. I just didn't see how I could walk away that close and not nab the bonus. I'm sitting at 75k for the year so I don't know if I'll hit Seven Stars or not.

Congrats again.

If we are anywhere near striking distance of a tier credit bonus, we go for it. Usually, though, we have already decided on a plan for the day.

With two of us playing on one card, it's somewhat easier for us to reach the bonus levels. At Tahoe, 35,000 of the 54311 that we added to our tier credit total was bonuses (3 @ 10000, and 1@5000).

I assume you're aware that there are some significant benefits in reaching 80,000 tier credits.

Sounded like a pretty good run there! Especially if you only had one royal in the Nevada portion of the trip each if I'm reading that right.

Actually, I had three, the one at Main Street Station, and two at Harrahs Tahoe, about ten minutes apart during that great Saturday morning session we had there.

My wife sort of made up for her meagre number of royals by making them good ones - one for $1500 at the M, and the other (at Seneca), for $2000.

Ten line .25 play is a ton of tries. Makes sense to minimize the risk with JOB and some BP. I'd have to aggregate all the numbers to discern the bottom line. But it sounds swell.
