Playing single coin all the time does this, but it also removes the
possibility of a max coin jackpot which takes the fun out of the game.
There are certain situations where CS has value, a cruise ship casino
for example or a player on a very restricted budget. Personally, I
don't use CS anymore.  I've decided to walk away from bad games or
strictly limit my play and I'm happy with my decision.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thanks for continuing to illuminate the pros and cons of CS even after abandoning it. I continue to slide in and out of CS due to budget limits even with a ton of full pay at my disposal. It does take the fun out of the game. Grinding away for over an hour and settling for a two coin quad is a severe downer. Not losing, but not exactly making a triumphant exit. I may resort to setting a phone alarm for an hour after my initial hand alerting me to get down to business and ramp up the wagers.

+352... .25c 10/6 DDB...Played a different bank of 10/6 DDB tonight because there was an obnoxious drunk smoking a cigar on my usual progressive bank and just didn't want to deal with it. Not much was happening until I flopped AAAAJ, held the aces and was able to spike a 3! Played down to $350 up and called it a session. Worm has turned for sure.P.S. Don't know if you listen to gambling with an edge show with Dancer and Munchkin, but if not, Nov. 17th with Dennis Krum was a good one and Krum talks about the skewed thinking of casino managers these days of win/loss thinking instead of handle/drop thinking. And that actually good games and winning players makes them more money, not less. Nothing can be more true of the last 10 year downward spiral of the quality of the game  than slot and video poker machines, as the games got tighter and tighter, they are actually hurting the casino and  also, the player, not helping really anybody. Casinos are desperate to figure out how to attract the newer generation to the machines because they are simply passing them by on the way to the clubs and restaurants. Young people are not dumb, they know the machines are tight and don't want to lose their money. Seems a no brainer? The casinos are currently testing so called "skill" based games which in reality have the same expected returns or less than the machines that are out now. The reality is, they need to put in looser machines, increase the drop and hold, and have more winners and make more money. On the surface seems opposite is true, players need to lose for the casino to win, and vice versa. But the reality is, if the players win, the casino wins, it's not a lose/win situation.  For one to hit a 105% progressive, everybody else misses it. Anyway, cheers and on to the next.

The obnoxious drunk was a blessing in disguise.

-460... .25c 10/6 DDB...
Was due for a crappy session and got one. When DDB is bad, it's bad. Two quads only, Js and Ks, in about 3,000 hands or so. Well, on to the next.

Reverse ATM Day.Do you ever consider switching to JOB after an hour of such bad luck? You'd probably be down about $130 at that point, and JOB would at least relieve the tension. When I'm losing you can cut it with a knife. I get so desperate for that miraculous return to break even.
Do you ever consider switching to JOB after an hour of such bad luck?
If you play DDB and switch to Jacks, you are guaranteed to hit 4 Aces w. Kicker at least once.  You can't believe how many great quad hands I see playing Deuces Wild.

My recent JOB quads have been Aces. I wonder if the previous players were DDBers. I keep saying to the bartender and fellow grinders, "Wrong game."

Well, was up about $2100 before the loss tonight this month of November...so not crying too hard. Now I'm at about $1640 up for the month, which is very good in my book for quarter play.
Um, I look at it as never knowing what the next spin is going to bring. Don't think a switch to JOB is really a solution to a bad session, because once again one doesn't know what the next spin might bring. Of course hindsight is 20/20 and on a night like this, wish I was playing JOB and take probably a $150 loss, who knows. But on the other hand, I could hit AWOK on JOB and steam that I'm not playing DDB...
At any rate, I'm not as concerned about a single session but the month overall and if I'm up for the month, I'm happy. Yah, the loss sucks, but if we play vp on a regular basis, got to accept the losses along with the wins. Take the goods with some bads, hopefully more the former than the latter...
Cheers

I'd be thrilled being up $200 for a month of limited quarter play. Decent enough for me, not all that bad lately. Gotta up the ante.

-725... .50c/$1 BP...Seems there is no middle ground for me anymore with these pot shots. I either strike it big, or lose big. Lately it's been losing big, and it sucks. :) Curses on bonus poker, the supposedly low-variant game keeps knocking me out.Decided to earn some comp dollars and points, take a pot shot, and BP humbles me and my wins yet once again. I used to do quite nicely on this game and was rare to have a significant losing session...but now it seems it's every time. Welcome to video poker. Cost me 725 to earn 40 dollars in comp dollars. What a deal. Once again back to the quarter grind. I said when DDB is bad, it's bad. Well, that goes for any game. Still up for the month, but this was certainly another humbling experience.Cheers
