That is a good idea with a check to endorse the back for deposit only.   When they gave me the check they asked if I wanted some in cash.  They told me I could get it the next morning.  I said I would be leaving early so they said it would be ready in an hour.  LOL!

I also got a security box on another trip when I hit a $1 royal as well as 3 $1 Dueces.   I told them I would come back and visit it and make entries.   Fortunately,  I kept winning and putting more in the box leaving enough to continue playing.   I took home $6,000 on that trip which was the best  trip I have had to date.    Hope to get on a $5 sometime.   I would have been better off to have taken the check for the $1 royal.  It is a lot of money to carry.    It's kinda fun to get the handpay like you're on a game show or something.   Except for everyone in the area watches and that's not a good idea I guess.  So much for fun---better for security.

At Harrah's Vegas several years ago when we were still playing slots we established an account where you could get front money.  When we left, they asked if we wanted a check as well if I recall.

I'm a Rookie at VP.  Several years ago, I played quite a bit but switched to Blackjack.  At that time, I had hit only one Natural Royal and that was on a nickel Deuces Wild machine on which I was playing for 5-credits when the machine had a max of 10 (or 20 credits, can't remember)...so, I didn't get the 4,000 bonus for the Natural.

But over the past few months, I've switched back to VP...mostly Double Bonus.  In September of this year, I hit two Royals, one at 4-Queens (Las vegas) and one a couple of weeks later at AmeriStar in Kansas City.  I drew one to the Royal at 4-Queens and drew two to the Royal in Kansas City.  Quite a rush!

But as someone else said, it's the Quads that are the "bread and butter."

It's a funny thing about that Royal I hit several years ago.  I cannot recall where I hit it!  I know it was on my first trip "downtown" on Fremont in Vegas, but for the life of me, I've never been sure I found the machine or casino at which I hit it.  I know is was not one of the better lit casinos like GN or 4-Q.  LVC and Plaza were not the ones I'm sure.  I don't think it was Binions (Horseshoe back then).  Golden Spike has the right "feel" but I don't remember getting off of Fremont St.  The only other place it could have been was Golden Gate but I don't think they have that type nickel machine...at least not any longer.  Of course, I was pretty looped on comped Scotch on that trip (something I no longer indulge in!)

Mike, My shrink says I should not drink and gamble at the same time. Seperatly is ok but not together.
Maybe if you were with someone you could ask them where you hit that royal.

I was with my wife, but we were goo-goo-eyed on that trip.  It was our third trip to Vegas I think and the first two were on the Strip.  Downtown is such a different experience (and one we LOVED) that we were just trying to soak it all in at once if you know what I mean.  Hoping from casino to casino like kids in a candy shop.  But the location of that Royal has bugged me for years.  Every time I go out there I look and try to place the setting.

We still play almost exclusively downtown but are a bit more cognisant as to where we are these days.  In fact, I'll be out there next week.  Hope I'm still clapping when I come back home!

Rascal,
TY for the info on checks and accounts. Hope I get the chance to put it to use. My best win so far was a dealt royal on a .50 triple play.Like others have said was a kick to get it in cash, but I spent a lot of time looking over my shoulder after !LOL! And those hundred dollar bills seemed to jump from my pocket to hand to machine!

Lovevp, amazing run of Royals! Please don`t sit by me !

I hit an ORDERED Royal on a nickle machine while playing max coins.  I had only been playing it about 5 minutes. Exactly one week later, I hit the machine next to it for a Royal, again playing max coins.  This time I got it on the second hand!  What do you think the chances are of hitting it a third time?  Slim to none would be my guess!

I hit my first ever royal flush at the Harrah's Rincon outside San Diego two weeks ago. All that I held was the queen.  I was playing quarters.  Wish I had been playing dollars!!  I continued playing that same machine and hit a straight flush soon after!  Needless to say I cashed out ahead!

When a player talks about a jackpot and wishes he had been playing at a higher denomination, he does not take into account that it was the denomination, game, and moment that combined to bring him that jackpot. If Nighthawk had switched to dollars he would not have received that Royal. Granted, there is a chance that he would have received another Royal at the dollar level, but not that one.

How is denomination related to the resulting draw?  I understand game and moment (given the RNG) but how is denomination a factor?
