A 5 for 1 payout on every 15 hands on average is pretty sweet indeed. Takes about more than 30 hands to either get a striaght/flush/full house on a standard non wilds game.

Month in Review for August...
August started great, hit a royal, always a good start to a month. But took a few bumps here and there and for a brief time, was trying to earn some comps/points, which put me back a bit. But at last the month is at an end for me and ended up at +$458 for August.
I give August a grade of B-. Was overall a good month, not great. Certainly not bad. Any plus column is 'not bad' in my books.

Onwards to September with a big challenge announcement!
I'm giving myself the 40 hr .25c single line full pay deuces wild challenge!!!

Basically the goal is to be at +$400 or higher after 40 hours of play on full pay deuces (about 45-50 thousand hands for me, or, one royal flush cycle)...
This should be around the stat average but we all know about deviation. I play very part time video poker so it may take around 2 weeks give or take to put in 40 hours. But I'll get it down for sure by the end of the month, which is the important thing since I like to measure month by month.
My only out is if I'm getting multiple losses in the row and lose my bankroll in the beginning...then I'm going to put it on the backburner to come back sometime in the future.
If one has the time, can follow my progress or regress on my youtube channel TheSuperdaniel1970.
Allright, back to battle Sept. 1st.
Cheers!

I agree with the August B-. You had a Royal Flush and still only managed to finish +$450. But you are still ahead and earned comps like a man possessed. I think it is a fine idea to set a monthly VP goal and set a challenge. I will try to loosely mirror your structure. My goal is to end September ahead $400 on at least twenty hours of JOB. My secondary goal is to earn 1000 TCs. This would put me on pace to earn a CET Platinum card. My Gold has tarnished by frequent trips over three years.

Goal setting is fun, if rarely turning out as plan. Should at least be interesting :)

3rd session almost identical to the 2nd, lot's of blanks. -$260.
total time of sessions so far: 4 hr 20 min
total win/loss so far: -$465.00

Getting close to putting the breaks on the challenge and moving on to other things. Had two big unexpected strikes early in the challenge. Bad time to run cold. All profit made for the month of August put back in the machines already.
Full count and bases loaded, we will need a grand slam on the next one or at least a plus to justify to myself to keep going. Otherwise, taking a break and will move to a different game than full pay deuce.
Cheers

DAA, I am folding up my challenge as well. We both folded like Ikea mattresses. Friday -$215 in three hours. Yesterday -$200 in even less time. Most painful JOB rut ever. To rub salt in the wound, a guy right next to me hit a quad in fifteen minutes! Only $25 since he was hard core CS. But that would have gotten me out of the casino right there. Severe financial distress. I went for the $125 quad way too much and of course had visions of the $4,000, no doubt subconsciously influenced by forum photos. I am bowing out. Or moving to full pay DW. Clobbered on both coasts.
