I avoid TDB simply because one gets 2 to 1 for trips, and to play correctly, must save kickers with tripped A,2,3,4 which is sky high variance (not to say ddb doesn't have a say when it comes to variance). At any rate not to put anything in tdb players, a great night can be an amazing night I'm sure. And I've played tdb before and hit aces with kicker and that's awesome. But if you don't hit, tdb can make ddb brutality seems like child's play.

And the strategy for full pay TDB is quite difficult as well thanks to the 7 for 1 flush. I play it a lot when I play these contests though...meh. Real money though, yeah, way too swingy for me.

They may be routine, but I like the updates myself.

+175... .25 10/6 ddb. Felt like the plus should be higher. Hit a lot of quads, with three of the higher ones...quad deuces,
Deuces with a kicker, and flopped 4 aces but still no kicker to be found, darn it! A bit frustrating but glad for the win.

As a side note...
I started doing some you tube videos using win poker software. I put a pilot out on basic theory and using win poker for mobile and touched on a lot of beginning concepts, but some advanced as well. I have been not happy with a lot of videos on you tube about vp except for some exceptions, so decided to put up some training videos including concepts, play, analytics, and whatever else in relation to this crazy game called vp.
With win poker, one can be sure the info is accurate,
Including me. Can look it up by typing "video poker in the desert." With the pilot, it's unedited and uncut and off the cuff, so keep that in mind. I'm using my iPhone for the win poker and my iPad as the video camera, and not purchasing any extra equipment for now.
Ep 1 will start on none other than jacks or better, using some stats from frank kneeland's secret progressives. Awesome book. Much more than just progressives and teams. If u must have one book, get this one. Then as a follow up to Ep 1, will do a mock quick session play with job on win poker and talk about it. Then I'll see how it progresses from there...
My goal is everyone from beginner to advanced might learn something, including me, and be entertained or at least, slightly amused, with the process.
Cheers

I agree. Best book I've read on not just VP , but gambling in general.

For what it's worth, just downloaded episode 2 of "video poker in the desert." Episode 2 may be of more interest than the pilot
Or episode 1 since those are more geared to beginners new to the game and explaining win poker software.
But episode 2 I play a mock "real" session of $1
Jacks or better with commentary. It's as real as real gets without sitting in a loud smoke filled casino and comment throughout on all sorts of stuff. i think Ep 2 is more interesting and entertaining, so going forward I will keep this commentary "real" session format on a few games and go from there.
Cheers

I just returned from Vegas after a 5 day visit. I played VP for maybe an average of 5 hours a day. I did not hit any aces after all that time and yet I was down just 70 dollars for the trip.Free rooms and food and had a blast.  My game of choice is also DDB but also play other games.

+175... .25c 10/6 ddb...told myself I'd make it a quick one tonight if it starts well so I can go home and watch the walking dead season opener. Indeed, caught quad jacks around the 10th spin then two quad 3's no kicker only one hand apart from each other. Played down to +$175 and called it.
Cheers
PS downloaded episode 3 of "video poker in the desert." virtual session of $1 DDB with commentary. On you tube, yeppers

You'll have the best of both worlds when the "Walking Dead" slot machine comes out...

-500... .25c 10/6 ddb. Started with a straight flush and went downhill from there. Was a battle to the end. The math is not where I want it right now...Small wins, big losses. Tomorrow is another day. Heaven or hell game indeed.
Cheers
Ps putting out episode 4, fpdw session then soon putting out 4b on nsud deuces and 4c on ugly deuces. In you tube under video poker in the desert.

That was an excellent deal! Of course you had to pump in the 25 hours to keep getting comps.
