I'm planning to go to Lake Charles, LA on Wednesday to play a $25 per hand, single line 9/6 JOB machine and was looking for some advice like is $1,000 enough of a bankroll?

NO! One needs a 5k bankroll on $5 games.

If you play 9/6 JoB $25 per hand, 5 play on $1. $1000 should be enough.

You should be fine as long as you are planning to play for 5-10 minutes.

With $1,000 play something more modest.

Guess I will try something more "modest." Trouble is the closest casino to me is about 155 miles one way, about a 2 hour drive. So it would really suck if I went away a loser or just breaking even.

The unfortunate fact is that the structure of the game dictates that, more often than not, that is exactly what will happen.

Yes, I don't know what your expectations are or how often you play. It always sucks to lose money. But if you can't come to terms with the fact that this is most likely what will happen in a single session, then you should probably rethink your plans. Of course, we will all be rooting for you. Good luck out there!

The neat thing about playing $5 denoms with a $1000 bankroll is that you don't have to waste any time breathing. You can flush that ole bankroll between breathes.
