Last minute bankroll saving hits
Since everyone on this site seems to play video poker regularly I`m sure all of you have had not only big wins but also horrible losing days. But how about last minute "down for the count" hands that saved you from a horrible day? I'll share one of my favorite events. I was playing "Triple Ace Poker" (Which seems to be a rare game) and at that time it paid out $1,125.00 for a straight flush for a 20 credit ($5) bet. Anyway I went in the casino and had only been there 5 minutes when I hit 4 of a kind in the 4x bonus round and then a full house in the bonus round and suddenly I had $1200 after only putting in $40! BUT I had looked forward to going to the casino all week and had driven 90 minutes to get there and had just sat down so I couldn`t stop then. Plus I was so far ahead. Well to make a long story short 8 hours later I had lost back that $1200 and another $1000 of my own money! I went from $1160 up to $1040 down! I was so upset and cursing myself and swearing I'd never go back. I was down to my last 100 credits and was saying as soon as they were gone I was leaving. Then I got dealt the 4-5-6-8 of spades and a K of hearts. I said "Yeah right! F-you machine! Stop teasing me and let me go home!" I hit "draw" and up it popped 7 of spades! In a second I went from $1040 down to $85 up. I cashed out and got the hell out of there as quick as possible.

Nice save Sarah! I was once at the Majestic Star in Indiana and was playing .05 Fifty Play. I was down to my last $1.25 after having played $300 in the machine. Was playing TDB and hit max (which was only 5 hands) and was dealt 4 aces/k for $1000. Darn hand couldn't have shown up when I was playing 25 hands, but I was happy nonetheless.

Good work getting out of there Sarah when you did. I'm the guy that used to keep going and turn the $1200 up, not only to $1000 down but to $3-4k down. That's why now I set very strong money management parameters and stick to them. I know what it's like to be at the casino for only a few minutes and get a big hit and want to keep playing. But now I stop and play another day.

Lord I have I have a whole scrap book of these kind of stories. But Ill post just a couple of my favorites.
After a long night of loosing steadily... win some... loose some... could never get anything going but on a steady downhill slide. After 8 hours or so on my last 5 credits hit a Royal to break even.
Another time I was down big and broke, walking out the door I thought hey I wonder if I have any free play left on my card and yup had $10 left. Got dealt two aces and wasn't even thinking about it and up came 3AA on TDB for 4,000.
But my favorite of all time was once I was going to the room to go to bed from being broke. Last night of a weekend trip... got to the elevator and while searching for my room key ran across a $20. So I drop it into the machine and got dealt 4 Aces, cash out next machine got 44443, cash out next machine 2222A, then Quad Jacks. Jumped to the last machine on the bank and hit the 10S to hit the progressive Royal for $7.6K which is what I was chasing. While waiting to get paid switched over to Deuces wild and got quad deuces almost back to back.
So after going broke after almost 20 hours of play. I took my last $20 and turned it into over $13k in about 20 minutes. Crazy

SaraTG, rockinrobin and spxChrome: Thanks for sharing those great and fun stories! Good advice, mule, with your last sentence.
I have had that experience of playing through a royal and calling myself names, when another royal or better hit (as 5X STP for that second royal!). Other times I have just played through a royal and crawled out of the casino, vowing to give up gambling forever! I am still here.
I was impressed when I turned $20 into $1600 in a short period of time, $ DDB. I was not so impressed after I rapidly gifted $500 to family members.
Happiness is finding an extra Jackson OR Bengi hiding in my purse after I arrive home. HAH, I thought I had more $ with me and here it is! How nice to see you!

I had a wonderful moment when I came in to play twenty dollars and eat a comp buffet. I put the twenty in a machine and hit 5,000 dollars on third spin. Paid the taxes and left!

I'm with you, Eduardo. Anyone can hit a $5,000 winner on $20, but good comped buffets are hard to find.
