Roveer loves Harrah's! Another good visit

Post by roveer »

Back from another Sunday visit to Harrah's AC and lots of nice hits to share.  This trip helped take the sting out of my last visit.  Looks like 1 maybe 2 trips left to surpass the 100k points level to move up to 7 stars.  This beat even my projections of getting there by the end of the year.  The 17k trip last week really took a bite and this weekend was 11k points added.  I took the majority of the big hits as checks to ensure that I didn't "train wreck" and come home with nothing.  I've decided to implement some strict rules about checks vs cash on jackpots.  On the 6k hits I took 4k on each as a check.  In hindsight I think I should have taken 5k and 1k back to cash.  On the 2k hits I think taking 1k check 1k cash.  This trip I think I would have had sufficient bankroll had I done that and would have more in my pocket.  If I had gone bankrupt than I probably would have ended the session ahead of where I ultimately wound up.

This one I bagged while waiting to get paid on the one above.  First time I ever "locked up" 2 machines at a time.  You'll see I was playing "double" STP with the 70 coin bet.  That's why I was only playing quarters.  I never seem to get anywhere on the DSTP machines but waiting for 6K I figured why not.  I normally don't play a 2nd machine but that hit had me feeling good.  When the lady came to pick up the 2nd machine I was already on the 3rd machine trying to "lock up" the whole row.  She actually waited saying go ahead "lock it up" so I don't have to make 2 trips.  That made sure that I didn't hit the 3rd.  Would have really been something had I done it.  Harrah's forces hand pays on anything over 1000 which can be a pain sometimes, but their system sends an attendant to the machine when it has a hand pay.  MGM you have to go and track down an attendant which can take forever.  Of course Paris LV they carry cash in a waist pack and pay you on the spot while someone runs for the W2G.

Still looking for that big hit.  Quad aces were hitting for me with the kicker this trip but there were a few that I really would have love to have gotten.  I think there were at least 2 occasions where I was looking at 3 dealt aces on a 5 multiplier but never hit.  If I had seen one on an 8 or a 10 multiplier I would have fallen off my chair in anticipation.  Of course I'm still looking for my dealt royal.  That on a 10 play at dollars with the possibility of a multiplier is what I'm yearning for. 400 grand possibilities...

Great hits!  In the first screenshot where you hit for 1155, your total shows as 2973 -- meaning that you had 1818 before that hit.  Did you accumulate 1818 in less-than-1000 increments up to that point?
In the NW Indiana casinos, where 1200 is the minimum taxable hit, you can't accumulate more than 1200 in credits.  It will spit out a ticket if any win makes the total exceed that.  So I was wondering how AC allows 1818.

Good observation.  I usually, but not always start out with 800-1000 when I'm playing dollars.  Anything less and you dwindle down quickly.  At Harrah's they hand pay everything over 1000 dollars (annoying), W2G at 1200 dollars (argh!!!) and the machines max out at 3000 and spit tickets on anything larger.  I love it when I put in 800, have a few nice hits, get up to 2600-2800 and then whack it 1 more time and have tickets start coming out.
