Arrgh! Gambler's ultimate remorse. Poor SOB only had $30 left in the machine, so he had little choice.
Arrgh! Gambler's ultimate remorse
Are you kidding me? He just won $1,250 and he's suppose to be sad about it? He can give it to me next time. The only bad thing would be if he just finished feeding $10K into the machine chasing that royal. If he did that, he should carry an I'M AN IDIOT sign with neon lights in it! I've thought about this myself and I have to admit it would be pretty embarrassing when they gave you the W2G. Hasn't happened to me yet, but I love single coin $5 quad deuces. The money spends just as well...

It was a $27039.38 royal....yea, the ultimate nightmare for anyone that understands math. Not to say I have not played a few quarters dimes or even nickels at a time while drinking. But mostly I do that when I am getting drunk and don't want to make expensive mistakes. I try not to drink much if at all when playing.

I alluded to this type of situation earlier where i expressed my (personal) disdain for playing less than max coin. I rarely if ever sit down to play a session on a machine where I will be playing LESS than MAX COIN so the majority of the times in my life where I have indeed pushed the "DEAL" button with less than MAX coin being wagered happened LONG AGO back in the "ancient" times where REAL coins were still used in video poker machines all over Vegas (even the strip!), so you know we are talking 1993, 1994, 1995 and there about.......back in those days it was not uncommon to roam a casino with a bucket of quarters and plop 5 coins in on a machine, hit deal than move on to the next machine, and keep doing this all day or night long. sometimes you'd make an error and only put in four coins and hit <DEAL> .... not a good feeling but I never hit a Royal when that happened.....worst was one time I caught a Straight flush on the deal with a 3 coin bet! whooopsSometimes, standing/sitting in line for a restaurant or buffet, with your hands in your pocket, you'd be face to face with slots or video poker and could not resist putting whatever loose coins you had in the machine just to see what kind of luck you had......rarely would you have more than 8 or 9 quarters loose in your pocket so you'd end up putting them in to the machine piece meal (i.e. NOT 5 at once), almost praying you'd NOT CATCH A REALLY GREAT HAND! (The golden nugget Las Vegas Buffet was one of the BEST in the city 1992 thru 1996, when Steve Wynn still owned the GN and was dreaming up Bellagio etc.....Anyhow, the LINE for the GN Las Vegas Buffet would often stretch the length of the casino floor at peak dining hours, wrapping and winding itself through and past dozens of video poker and slot machines, so that a CHANGE girl often was given the sole task of helping ONLY the players and customers standing in the Buffet line.....and of course a fair number of people like me would be simply putting their spare change in.....and here a couple times I caught four of a kind, but back then it was almost always ONLY Jacks or better so the damage was negligible.)

I have done the same exact thing with a few quarters and ended up hitting a few hands only to go on to playing for 2 hours at max bet. Talk about walking away down $.50 and feeling like you got your moneys worth!!

His balance was low, but he still could have max bet that hand since a max bet is $25.
And the other choices one always has to avoid betting 1, cash out and quit or add more money. That being said, I do see a lot of players min bet when they are near broke.
