The Second Luckiest Day

I've told the story of hitting 4 royals in one 24 hour period many times before on this forum.  Here's my second luckiest day story.  I play at the Tampa Hard Rock at least one day a week. Three years ago, I happened to be playing DDB.  I was bored with deuces and decided to be a contributor for a change.  What the heck, maybe the VP spirits will shine on me?   Anyway, I like to walk around and change machines.  It doesn't do anything for my results, but it does make me feel better.  I sat down next to a little oriental looking lady.  She was very excited because she was hitting quad after quad.   Funny thing was, I started hitting them too.  All of a sudden she turned to me and said in a loud voice "We can't lose!"  I told her "OH MY GOD, don't even say that!"   About that time she hit a quad ace with a kicker for $500.  She cashed out and left the machine cold.   I looked around and slid over to her machine.  I wasn't letting this machine go unplayed.  I was playing quarters and remember hitting a few more small quads.  By that time the counter was getting pretty high so I switched to dollars.  Three or four hands more I was dealt a royal flush for $4K.  While I waited to get paid, I played my original machine a little more.  Both machines went cold and took back a couple hundred bucks.  I got up and left, walked to another area of the casino.  I played dollars and put in a hundred.  Quad aces started popping up like ducks in a target range.  $800 here, $800 there, it was ridiculous.  Finally the hand pay music went off and I had hit a quad ace with a kicker for $2,000.   The same girl came over and told me I was having a lucky day.  NO SH....!!  Anyway, I went home up about 7K.  I've been dealt five royals so far in my life, but that one was the most fun.

Good thing that lady next to you didn't jinx you, or worse attract unwanted attention to you Phil.  Very nice hits though, especially that dealt Royal on dollars.  Still waiting for my first dealt Royal to come my way.

I don't know why, but I've done better than most on dealt royals.  Takes a lot of skill you know....

Great story Phil. I think I have had 4 dealt Royals not counting the one where I tossed the dealt cards and the draw produced the royal on a fifty cent machine. However, I estimate that is over 15 to 20 million hands so I am still behind the 8 ball as far as dealt royals goes. Should have had over 20 of them or 1 every 700k hands or so. My last one as you probably remember was that huge one on DDS 8/3/2016 for 18k. That was the ony day in my lifetime where I had a vp day as you describe hitting another huge pot shot for another 18k in the same 24 hour period. That one was quad deuces with an Ace though on Bonus Deuces and on multiple lines. Unfortunately, both are long gone but as you always say in vp......anything can and will happen. Now if I could only break this current cold streak. Broke my head cold, but not the vp cold.

The flu season seems to be extra bad this year.  We always get flu shots, but my wife got sick last month and I got it from her.  We're better now, but getting sick is a real pain.  We're heading to Hollywood for my birthday in a few weeks.  I've done well in Tampa the last few months, but I'm sick of playing short coin.  So far this year I haven't hit any royals in Tampa , so it didn't cost me to play the better odds single coin. In Hollywood I can go full blown "Dancer".  Keep plugging away.

Congratulations on that $7,000 memory. Just goes to show what can happen with bankroll and guts. I've noticed that dollar machines can deal a mercy premium hand once a session, but only the mid level premiums, not the grand daddy.

It got me 2 weeks ago too Phil. I had the super senior shot as well. I toughed it out and zicam and emergenC helped too. I refused to stay in bed which I should have at least one of the days. I felt like I was being hit with the baseball bad just like in the movie with Joe Pesci. I know many people this year who had the shot and got the flu anyway. Of course casino germs adds to the risk.

And a spade royal, at quarters or higher...I'm definitely jealous. It's better to be lucky than play good games!
