Re: My JoB journey
I've mentioned this before, I guess we have different reasons for playing VP. I can't bring myself to play 97% games, especially when there are 99.69% games available. If 97% games were all that were available to me, I wouldn't play at all. Just my nature. Not intended to be criticism.

None taken. I totally understand your point of view. What we have done recently is to reduce the amount of hands we play. We also no longer take as many long VP vacations. There's not much a casino can show us that we haven't seen before. We traveled all over this country visiting every casino we could find. The only 100% plus VP game we have ever seen was a small group at Red Rock. The vast majority are in the 97-98% range. Of course we can't know everyone's comps, so we don't know if they are enough to make the games positive.Carcounter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 8:26 amIf 97% games were all that were available to me, I wouldn't play at all. We still enjoy our road trip vacations, we just don't spend as much time in a casino. We have both had big wins on 97% games. My daily limit is now $300 a day. Once that's gone, I'm on to some other diversion. If I miss a royal because I left the game, so be it. Paying multiple times a royal for the experience of seeing a royal come up on my screen is not doing it for me anymore.
Once you get to this point, you might as well play nickels or single coin quarters. I still enjoy hitting the buttons, but the thrill is gone.

Some people play because they want to. Some because they have to. VP is every bit as addictive as crack. Imagine being so addicted to something you have to drive two hours each way just to get your fix.Carcounter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 8:26 amI've mentioned this before, I guess we have different reasons for playing VP. That's the real downside to this game. It's easy for weak people to get caught up.

Would you drive two hours to play a positive VP game if that was the closest one? Would you consider someone an addict who moves from New York to Las Vegas just so they can play better VP games? Just asking.

If someone were to move to Vegas just to play VP, you might be right. Now if someone moved to Vegas to save $35,000 a year in living expenses, you'd be mistaken, as usual.

Would you have moved to Las Vegas if they had no gambling?

Here's today's result. Played for 3 hours and 45 minutes. I was up $60 in less than 5 minute after I walked in. By the way, I've been playing max ($1.25) since day one. I should had left with that $60 but I decided I wasn't having enough fun for the day. In the end, I was down $57.49 when I leave. It's only been my third day into the game, I feel like if my goal is to make $30 or more and leave daily, it's do-able. But if I stay to play for hours, it'll be hard to catch up especially I make lots of mistakes. Overall, I gave back my wins from earlier this week, still down $3. Not bad consider I had so much fun.
Met a husband and wife of regular VP players this week. The husband was up $125 after like five minutes he sat down. The couple then took out a small bill to play and chat for another fifteen minutes, then they went home with the win. I guess I am not the only one out there that's happy with a small win daily.

Small wins are still wins.
Don't concern yourself with how much you win or lose in any one day. Setting cash out limits will make you feel better. It doesn't do anything to help your results. Some days you will win and some days you will lose. You will have more losing days than winning days. Be aware you could lose for a long period of time. You could win it all back in 30 minutes, or perhaps not.
What you want to avoid is doing things that hurt your results like running off to the high limit room to recover your losses or playing high variance poor return games. Keep a good attitude, enjoy VP as entertainment and you will be fine. That 9/6 Jacks game you are playing is one of the best games in any casino anywhere. You are lucky to have it. It may not last.
Only take into the casino what you can afford lose. When that's gone, leave. It may help you to keep records. I carry a small notebook with me and record my results. I started doing this in 2008. I have only made a profit 3 out of those 10 years of play. Two of those years I played a game with odds a lot worse than you are playing. I do not make a profit long term playing VP. Lots of people on this forum claim they do. There is no "lasso of truth" on this forum, so we must take their word for it. In any case, it's not an easy thing to do.
You are probably younger than I am and I doubt you read many comic books when you were young. If you don't know what the "lasso of truth" is, Google Wonder Woman.
