Re: Killing Time?
I ran up late last night for a few hours. Played the new Asian machines and turned a twenty into three hundred bucks in short order. That never happens to me on vp. Unfortuately, I gave it back and more on vp over the course of the rest of the evening. I should have known better especially after the good session I had the time before this. Just as an aside, I have been playing a lot of multi line games lately. Counting all of the lines I am well over a million hands without a Royal on any line. Time before last, I was dealt 4 to a Royal on the bottom line 3 out of 4 spins and didn't connect on any line. Wonder what the odds of just having a chance in 3 out of 4 hands for the Royal is. It has to be millions to one. I have never had that opportunity in my lifetime before.

No, I've never had $20 turn into $300. $100 w/straight flush. $1000 with a royal the one time, and that was via voucher. I would have taken it as a sign to burn rubber back home. Those tantalizing quasi royals are just enough catnip to draw the players back!

Oh, I've burned plenty of rubber over the years, just not out of the casino. The old Saturn will just not spin the tires. ...However, with the 65 GTO, 65 Olds 442, 68 Charger RT or even my 73 Ford pickup with a built 302, I had, could have killed off half of the mosquito population in the neighborhood from the tire smoke.

Our user names both allude to forms of transportation. You're in good company and have excellent taste. Blondie had a song, "Detroit 4-4-2".

Floridaphil, if you are mainly concerned with ONLY killing time and the choice of game is NOT a huge issue (other than it has to NOT be video poker) why not try simply playing 5 cent keno for 1 or 2 credits a spin? (I would advise removing your players card though so you do not "DILUTE" you own personal stats with measly 10 cent keno bets!) Or how about video blackjack for 1 credit a hand? (probably have to play 25 cent Video BJ but 1 credit is not much!)I dunno, just spittballin' here......Personally, I only choose gaming destinations (like AC and Vegas/reno) which offer lots to do BESIDES gambling for this very issue/reason.......I visit AC for usually 5-6 days at a time (used to be a lot longer, 7 to 10 days sometimes!) And I always have extended periods during my trips where I am doing other NON-gaming related stuff.....for me it is more than just gambling, I go for the "GET AWAY FROM NORMAL ROUTINE" factor where things like wheeling around, visiting sites and people, and other activities are important. I always bring several things to read (books, mags, peridicals) and I get most of my leisure reading done on these trips to AC and Vegas. As I related in my recent vegas trip post, a huge portion of the trips activity was totally unrelated to gambling.......inherent in any Vegas (or even Reno) getaway is a lot of non-gambling activity, and in Vegas' case, they have built into the whole city's economy and identity a prominent non-gambling core of sites, activities and events.I have even posted about AC's public Library as something I personally have been using and visiting when I visit AC......I have NOT been to any of VEGAS' public Library(ies) in a Very long time, but I have visited UNLV campus on numerous occasions! Reno has a nice library I am told (again, never actually seen it.....)
