On most days it will be about 97% return if a fair share of 4oaK, full house, flush, and straights come out. A 10k coin in trip session on average yields a loss of around $300. On a very good day when there will more 4oaK and full house hits than usual, to be able to play more than 10k by making another trip the following week. Otherwise I try to play one of these sessions every 3-4 weeks to at least maintain Tier 2 status.

When the bad days happen time to time (most recently happened), the overall return can go to 88% to 90% and I have to take a 6 week break from playing from getting ruined. A good amount of time, the majority of the bankroll can stay in tact.

happy with a $100 loss on $20k coin in on 9/6 JoB for dollars when I didn't hit the royal!Over the moon! More than a fair price for that much entertainment and high wire peril. But we all know that's not a proper real world reflection.

97% return is pretty damn cool. I can lose $100 in just a couple of hours on a bad day playing ultra slow and never more than $1.25 a hand, going from quarter variable betting to dollar machine min betting. This weekend was very good to me, however. I averaged a quad every seventy five minutes. I had two each Sat and Sun. My only regret was a fifty cent bet yielding $12.50 yesterday. I was afraid of pushing my luck on a machine that had been paying steadily. And I was stressed out from waiting for it to be free also. I wanted to at least preserve the $29 I won from my $25 voucher and the conservative play short paid the quad. I cashed out with a whopping $40.50.

The 97% number comes about since I do not frequently see a straight flush nor a royal flush on my 2000 hand play sessions. Royal flush makes for about 1.98% return, the straight flush makes up about 0.55% of the return. Subtract that from 99.54 - 1.96 - 0.55, you get 97%, from there the number of quads/full houses affect Today's Score (which can fluctuate) and that affects how soon my next trip will be, but I try to see things in the long run.Since the variance on Jacks Or Better is amongst the lowest (if not the lowest), you will see close to neighborhood results within the theoretical return.

To me the VP machines play like a slot machine now days. Just dead hand after dead and then maybe a good hand. Were before you could float $100 bill for 10-15 minutes. Now its gone as fast as you can get it out of your pocket.

I am still convinced that they have found a loop-hole in the regulations. To me its like the deal is Random and after the deal its dealing cards based on some kind of set payback%. Its is just next to impossible to fill a dealt set of 2,3,4 or Aces.

Everytime I go to a casino I can always get quad 8's or 10's or Kings. But only about 1 out of every 4 trip can I get a 400 or 800.

My absolute worst days result in about a fifty dollar an hour loss, Chrome. Those are thankfully few and far between, but painfully persistent memories nonetheless. I call them my Drunken Sailor gambits. Even when I don't hit a quad, the money lasts a reasonable amount of time. I won $110 last weekend over two VP days, plus $50 with the vagaries of craps. So hopefully I can swing at least half of that this weekend. It sounds like you play that Double Double Breakneck game, where variance will often cream players.

Alpax, 2000 hands at 97% is reasonable enough. It's not like anybody sees straight or royal flushes much. I do 500 hands a session and pray for mercy. I think JOB is the lowest var, 19.5, which is why I play it.

Good times are definitely gone - I remember back in the late 90's, early 2000's - when I was treated like a queen at the MGM - suites, shows, food, baskets and birthday cakes waiting for me in the room - then - all of a sudden it all stopped - I couldn't understand it - my visits had increased and my losses also (unfortunately for me) increased. But yet I wasn't treated the same.
Although the room was still free, the meals and freeplay got smaller - Somehow they made me feel like a second class citizen and not welcomed at all... Havent been back in about 3 years since I might as well stay in Colorado to play VP. Now the offers seem to be getting a little better - might try again in a couple of months.

If Colorado casinos are smoke free as Phil described, I'd take that over most benefits a casino offers.

MGM has a rewards program "mLIFE" that debuted around 2010 or so. It might be better. But yes, I've read enough of Jean $¢ott blogs to know those loyalty days are gone (I think it was possible to stay at multiple hotels year round at Vegas without ever paying for rent, but in return for some casino action).

If Mohegan Sun would go completely smoke free, I would gladly give up all of my comps and just play. I am tired of getting into beefs with players who come into non smoking areas and refuse to put out their butts or leave even when I explain things nicely to them. Of course security is never right there when you need them. I have come very close to actual combat with some of them and I know the consequences if that happens. Everyone gets thrown out no matter who is right. I have had to make phone calls to security several times over the years on the really bad repeat offenders. Luckily they all have been removed with no consequences to me except kinda ruining my mood and also luck sometimes. . Keep extra blood pressure pills on hand for that.
