I can't seem to do a thing with 99% job or bonus poker so I still stick to Deuces. I don't get quad deuces every session, but on my next trip, I pick up here I left off at the last. I play airport deuces and also on DDS regular or bonus deuces usually triple play on the DDS game. I did have a losing session last night, but after playing about 5 hours on triple play DDS and never being ahead, a guy sits down next to me and plays a single line game DDS deuces wild on a fifty cent game. He hits max bet by mistake so he bets 25 halves and gets quad deuces good for ten grand. Wish I had a video, but I was inches away from his machine when it hit. I was just about to ask him if he knew he hit the max bet button too. Was an older gentleman...hehehe..by that I mean about my age. Took his winnings in two bundles of hundreds of 5k each and didn't even count it. Then he smartly scramed. Just edited to add....after seeing the first 3 deuces, the guy of course doubles his bet and is now betting 50. This game pays 400 to one for the quad deuces so he won 20k halves or ten grand.

This year has been one long losing streak for me so far.   Only one small royal this year and lots of losing sessions.   I expected as much as last year was a big winner.   Switching to BP has helped my attitude and definitely slowed the fall.  Ultimately I think we are all waiting for our share of royals.   If they don't happen, you lose.  You don't need to be a math expert to figure that out.

FFA... Looks like you live in Vegas...
If you like progressive VP you might want to check out one of this locations...
Look at the very bottom of the page on link...
Quarter progressive starts at 1500 and Dollar starts at 6000...
Looks like 8/5 J's or Better by the picture...

Steiner's
Side Note...
It can't be no worse then Caesars Palace!
When I was 25, I was going by one of the bars and ordered a miller lite.
The bartender carded me, When he saw I was of age he got me the beer and set it
on the bar. I laid a 100 dollar bill on the bar to pay for it and he told me to get
some change because he could not break the bill. I told him to keep his G.D. beer picked
up by 100 dollar bill stuck it in my wallet and started walking straight out the front
door and have not set foot in that place in 40 years and never will even though now it is
owned by the same company that owns Bally's. I do like Bally's. I still get pissed off when
I remember that experience... Like right now as I'm typing this post...LOL...

That extra 2 percent or so for no or few Royals really adds up. Don't I know that well. Tens of thousands per year for me. Finally started backing my play way down. Having just as much or more fun. edited to add. also see my post a few minutes ago on another thread. I think it was a Harra's thread. It has to do with the nickel lady hitting the Royals.

Ran, I refer you to my scintillating thread The Path. You confuse me with the highly prolific Vegas Dan. Seeking sevens at the table for my weekly roll is a goal.

I've been fortunate to have access to full pay deuces, which is a positive game and I don't think widely available to those outside Las Vegas. Having said that, obviously I've had my share of losses on deuces, but overall, I'm up in deuces. I play bonus poker as well and have had my share of losses as well. I will say the variance is noticeably lower on deuces and job/BP then say DDB:tdb:loose deuce, etc. Lower variance is easier on the bankroll and the stomache. I wish there was a magic game we can ensure wins, but there isn't. Just the grind of wins and losses.
One more thing, one of the reasons I can get the deuces more times than not is sheer number of hands, as I play fast on deuces wild (12-1400 hands an hour) and play a few hours. Deuces come along about one in 4900 hands approximately so more than not, fortunately one will come. We can only hope.
Cheers
I wish there was a magic game we can ensure wins, but there isn't.
Now that's a book I would buy!

Seriously, I've had a lot of fun with deuces over the last few years.  Eventually, you tire of the same old same old and I needed a change.  I will say this.  I like to move up in denomination when things are going well.  Not because there is any mathematical advantage, but because it adds an exciting dimension to the game.   In BP, the doubling of my money for two pair allows me to hang in at the higher denomination longer.  I don't have positive games or a lot of generous comps available to me.  My only chance of beating this game is to hit as many lucky higher denomination royals as I can.   Last year I was very lucky and hit two, one for $4K and another for $2K.  I think this whole VP thing is about royals and I like mine to be worth the wait.  I could play at dollars all the time, but the negative odds would eat up my jackpots. This probably makes no sense to a Vegas VP player or someone who can gain an edge.  My choice is to play 98% games or not play at all.   I choose to take my chances and go with luck.  Inevitably I think we are all playing for luck, but that's just my opinion.

Went to the Tampa Hard Rock today.  Played a couple of hundred in quarter Bonus Poker with nothing much happening.   Was dealt 2 sets of quad 3s in 10 minutes.  Switched to dollars and hit quad aces for $400.  Went home a winner.  It's been going that way since I switched.   No complaints.

Congratulations. I'd really been cheating myself. The more I play, the more I appreciate machines with denom switch capability. You rode the hot cycle to a massive hit. Plus you were smart enough to start at quarter, not fifty. That minimizes losses.
