I can't speak for Phil, But I believe by "We" he was referring to his wife and himself.

I too understood "we" as his wife and himself.

Part I did not understand was "We want our casinos to make money because we want them to survive." when FP was professing in the past that casinos will not survive if everyone started playing cheap.

I like how they explain in the video that you will lose with a 100% return game because the casino has more money than you.

I think the threat of busting or running low on money is the main reason players lose money playing VP.   You go to the casino with good intentions.  You play a good game and you have learned and can execute good strategy.  All goes as planned until your wallet starts to get light.  You panic and switch games.  You may switch to single coin.  You may even run to the high limit room in an attempt to catch up.  This panic activity most likely makes things worse and you go home with empty pockets again.  Like Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face!"

So,in essence, Phil is saying people lose because they lack discipline, yet constantly argues that discipline isn't needed because ,after all, it's just for ****s and giggles.

My niece is taking drivers ed. She says the instructor says she's a good driver, only she doesn't pay enough attention.

Different games, same results.
Very few people can be successful in life or almost anything without discipline.
Video Poker is scarcely the exception.

I will simply say that to have any chance of being successful, one needs discipline.
The discipline to play only good games, the discipline to play sober and the discipline to stay on budget.
If a person doesn't care about being successful and wants to exchange his money for the " thrill" of sitting at a video poker machine, I concede discipline isn't needed.
With that said, discipline isn't something you inherit.
It's something one acquires with work. Few people have perfect discipline. I certainly don't, but I'm an awful lot better at it than I was two years ago,and hopefully not as good as I will be two years from now.
