Gambling for somewhat high stakes makes it exciting.
I get this. Some people like to sky dive, race cars, swim with sharks, Etc. just for the thrill of it. Likewise, many gamblers don't enjoy gambling unless there is real money involved. To me risking $800 or $1,000 in two hours of DDB is very risky and I can see how it satisfies this desire. With only two random hours of play I don't see how the odds make much difference, but I'm sure it makes you feel more confident. Others, like me want to play longer and would rather have a chance at breaking even or hitting two or more smaller jackpots in a day. Everyone plays for a different reason, which is why I say there is no best way to play this game.

Well the way I look at it, considering paytables/odds: if after 2 hours of play I might get 10 flushes and 8 FH - these would yield an extra 90 coins compared to a lesser paytable. Those extra coins buy me a lot of extra chances (minimum 18 chances, more likely around 30 chances) at hitting a big hand; sending me home with a win.
If I wanted to play for hours there would be no way I could bang away like that. Like you said, everyone has a different goal when gambling.

With JoB, even if you lose on the session, most of the time you walk
away with a good amount of bankroll intact. I've ruined about two
times out of the last 30 visits.
That's pretty damn good! I'm guessing that your bankroll is about five times my meager one. What is your BR, if I may ask? I will attempt to replicate anything that works.

......the part below. Somehow this didn't print in the right order. My reply starts out with For me,
For me, it all started when I was about 10. The gang would head for the woods as we did nearly every day when there was no school and play a game called " Out on a limb. " We would all find the tallest trees and climb them until we got to the weaker branches way up and were really swaying in the breeze. Whoever got up the highest got to pick a marble from each of the losers bag of prize marbles. I won a couple of times and it felt just like hitting a Royal today. I also fell a couple of times only being saved by other branches breaking most of my fall. Back then, there was almost no fear at all of falling and we only thought about winning and getting to pick the best marbles. In vp, you or at least I always have in the back of my mind a fear of busting the bankroll for the day on some really bad streaks. Phil's method takes care of most of that though.
