Re: CS Straight Talk Review
There is no shortage of 99% games at Mohegan Sun starting at the quarter level and most all of the 99% machines let you change denomination. My problem is my returns on those machines are in the 94-95 range and 100% on the 95% 2 cent games. Go figure.

If you're flat betting max coins about 2% of the return is tied up in the royal flush payout. If you aren't lucky enough to hit your share, you can subtract that from your wallet. Been there, done that...

I am sure you've played Jacks or Better at the 5 coin plus levels to get 800 for 1 Royal Flush payout. The game normalizes very well due to its low variance. 99% return after 2 million rounds is the lower end of the bell curve, when the player plays competently. DDB does not guarantee that.

In fact, my biggest day ever was playing Jacks. These days you can't find 9/6 Jacks anywhere in the Southeast unless you want to play at least $2 a coin. This boosts the amount of the house edge to the point where you must get your share of royals or you are going to take a real financial beat down. If this doesn't bother you, it may work. As for me, I've lost enough money waiting on royals to last me a lifetime. If I had quarter 9/6 Jacks available to me, that's all I would ever play unless I just wanted to try something new for a little while.Note: You can play quarter 9/6 Jacks at the Island View bar in Gulfport MS. You must get their early and stay late as the seats are highly coveted.

The Hard Rock Hollywood (not Tampa) has 9/6 Jacks with full 800 for 1 payout at $1 denomination.
As you mentioned, the 9/6 Jacks at Tampa pays 500 for 1 for Royal Flush on the $1 denomination game. The last time I saw a screenshot 500 for 1 Royal Flush payout, the single coin was also set at 500 for 1. If it is, it might be a good to play that game at single coin for 98.88% return. It would be considered a GOOD quarter game.

They're probably trying to compete with Gulfstream Park, they have a similar pay schedule in quarters without the royal penalty. I'll check it out when I'm there. Thanks!

Thanks for that info! We are in San Antonio so get as far as Coushatta. Guess we will drive an hour further and check it out. For a short time Golden Nugget in Lake Charles had 16/10 deuces that were in the high limit room for a quarter no less! Why for only a quarter in high limit I don't know, but someone figured that out and they are gone now. It was really nice while it lasted. When we were there a woman was playing 2.00 max coin for 10.00 a pull, and hit two royals within 2 hours of each other......then they were gone!

Not sure if your eyes deceived you with the 16/10 DW, but Lucky Larry and Sweet C frequent Coushatta and have been to Golden Nugget on occasion (including its grand opening night) to say that the latter (G.N.) does not have any VP worth playing. It would certainly be a revelation if 16/10 DW did exist at G.N. when Double L shared about a conversation with their VP/director of slots on this forum with regards to how non-competitive the VP is.

I never been to that casino, I was looking at the VP inventory at VPFree Two dot com before I stated that claim.
(7) $1, $2, $5 Â 1 Play Up Front of the casino near Council Oaks
(4) $1, $2, $5 : 99.54% JoB, 99.17% BP in the back of the casino near the SIC BO sign
However, the update is dated, this was reported "2 years ago" which is a long time. I am not sure when you will make a return visit, but if it is not at those two locations it must have been downgraded.
7/5 Jacks is completely unplayable even at quarters.

Odds are changing as we speak, some actually for the better. Since the State of Florida didn't renew the deal with the tribes, we've seen the VP odds actually increase in some Florida casinos. Right now, Florida is considering opening more casinos with a huge casino resort in Miami. Two more Florida counties voted for casino gambling recently with more seriously considering putting it on the ballot. More competition means better games unless the casinos get together and fix the playing field like what's going on in Biloxi right now. If Mississippi continues on this path, other States are going to steal their customers and they will have to go back to mullet fishing for a living. I hope they get the message before it's too late.
