Yep. hell of a return when I was exclusively quarters. As long as I'm not in a bar with the chaos and distractions, I even do okay on dollars and it's much more exciting. Just do it in the morning. Quiet and great lighting. I like the clarity produced in a serene environment. Pile up points and quit.

I'm with you. I love to get up early and go down to the casino before the craziness starts. It's just me and the folks cleaning out the machines. You can actually hear the music and the smoke screen is gone. Nothing better than hitting a royal, sitting alone in the quiet and watching the coins count up.

I never have played at a bar. Do the really offer better pay tables? In AC? Do you have to be drinking to play?
I never have played at a bar. Do the really offer better pay tables?
It is common to find the best odds at the bar. Always check there first. I don't know why this is, but it's worth a shot. For example, the Island View Bar in Gulfport MS has 9/6 quarter jacks or better. Also the best quarter deuces wild odds in Biloxi are at one of the IP bars.

I always start at 11 AM, still peaceful in AC. When I'm done, the madness has set in. I can find bar odds elsewhere in the casino. It's just the obvious place without having to scout. For heaven's sake, stick to quarters. If you have to tweak the denomination to fifty cents to nudge yourself into break even scenario, that's tolerable. Go dollar and it's usually curtains. The hubbub always jars and irritates me. It helps cause bad decisions with bankroll and even card selection. I just can't stand it.

If you want to play dollars once in a while, throw in 4 hands with a $20 bill and run on anything good. If you start playing dollars all the time, you're asking for it. I hit a $4K royal or a $1,000 quad deuce every few years. It's a mess because I start thinking I can do it all the time. NOT!

Dollars will wipe you out like Sherman through Atlanta.------------------------------------------------------------------------Yes. The casino's high payout reputation is no consolation. You're just road kill. I ran on dollar quads at Caesars twice. It's not even debatable, I'm just gone. But a cold machine at Borgata nailed me eventually. I'm interested in the incremental bump to fifty cents remaining at a machine already yielded two quads pretty much on schedule over the weekend. I would hope that I could keep on trucking in place with that. Bring on the points.

I played at the 50 cent level for the first three months of this year. It wasn't that much different than quarters until I ran into a week long holocaust. I'm aware that I could hit enough royals to catch back up, but the bridge I would jump off before that happens is too crowded with VP players.
