Phil, why aren’t you playing that way still? What have I missed?
I have posted about this many times.  One of the big negatives of single coin VP strategy is comps.  Comps are calculated mostly by coin in.   If you play single coin 90% of the time and max coins 10% of the time, your average coin in drops significantly.  Back when I was playing CS, the only games I was able to play were in the 96% range.  Comps were either nonexistent or practically worthless.  It makes no sense to play a game this negative with max coins as you could lose 3-4 times a royal for each one you hit.  CS worked great in this case.  It reduced my cost to play letting me play many times more hands with the same money and my bankroll jumped big when I hit a lucky max coin royal. If I can play 98.9% Deuces Wild for example and I am able to earn comps with enough value to make
the game closer to 100%,  I use max coin strategy whenever possible.  Until recently the Hollywood casino offered this game at the quarter level and the comps were generous, so we played max coins.  Last week they reduced the quarter DW odds to 96%, so I may have to consider going back to CS.   At the moment that's still up in the air.98.9% Deuces Wild is my "line in the sand".  If the casino won't let me play the game I want to play, I'm a single coin quarter player.  Bob Dancer's strategy is to not play 96% games at all.  Instead of staying home I choose to play them, but I play them on my own terms.
