Re: Pot Shot Strategy Explained
We've just received Our October mailer from Main Street Station. It's offering 10x points on slots and, contrary to what the Hard Rocks do, 5x on video poker, for Oct1-7.
It does indicate certain machines are excluded. That normally means the bank with 100%+ machines.
I got around to taking a 13 megapixel picture of my M Mailer for July - September 2015. Hopefully you can see on the bottom right where it says excluded on certain machines and full pay video poker machines.
Sorry - you didn't have to do that. I didn't mean to imply I can't see it on my own mailer. I just hadn't taken particular note of it.
I certainly hope they do not start excluding the triple line 25c progressive from the multiplier.
It was not much trouble or effort at all, I just wanted to show you what I saw on my mailer, nothing more. I am on the lowest tier on Marquee Rewards so I can expect the least amount of benefits.
Airport Deuces is not considered to be a Full Pay game in the Deuces Wild family of games, so I hope they still award you double the points.

I joined because I believed this was a serious forum to discuss ways to learn a little more. "Cheap" strategy? "Pot Shot" strategy?? What kind of bs is this?

I think every Wednesday for 50 and over players (considered a senior age in Vegas), Boyd casinos have a Young at Heart promotion where they give those multipliers 10x slots 5x video poker for up to 10000 base points ($10,000 coin in).

The BS involves staying solvent long enough to have a shot at the real money. Quad Deuces every 5,000 hands and Royal Flush every 40,000 hands on average?! Those odds have bankrolls for breakfast.

If you people truly play and understand video poker for real, you're smart enough to know that counting on some magical big winning hand to pop up on the deal/draw just at the right time especially when playing only a few hands at a higher level because you don't have the funds to stay there very long, is totally stupid.
You guys really don't know that?

Playing negative expectation video poker games computer perfectly and never varying your bet with max coins is a 5X guaranteed long term loser. There is only one way to beat a seriously negative expectation video poker game long term and that is by consistently hitting jackpots at a higher denomination than you normally play and keeping the money. There are play strategies designed around this idea and they work if you have the patience and dedication to stick with them over the long haul. Pot shots are another way this can happen, but no one here is recommending that you rely on lucky hits as a total strategy. If you only play 100% video poker games and you have the skill and funds to play forever, you can ignore us dummies. If you play negative games and you're tired of paying to play, you may want to consider some alternatives.

All you did was explain how little you know about video poker, math, and common sense.
There are no guarantees like you mention. There's plenty of people who win on the negative machines over whatever term because of some big jackpot they've won in the past, or because they just do well and remain on the other side of the bell curve. But where you're right on this is that most don't.
Similarly, the 100%+ players are guaranteed nothing either. You only need look at my opinion of Bob Dancer's claims that remain full of gaping holes to see my point. However, your BS about "consistently hitting jackpots at denominations higher than you normally play" is such a crock that it shouldn't even be allowed to be talked about here. Explain how you magically conjure up these big winners in very limited play at high levels while you happily feed the machines at the lower levels.
If I could report you to the video poker police I'd do it. You're doing nothing but harm to other players with your voodoo system claims and you know it. Say it's for enjoyment only and there's no problem. But push it as a viable method of beating the machines with a peanut bankroll and you do nothing but hurt others who can't think for themselves.
