So how many Royals will you need at the quarter level to catch up? Twice as many, no?
We have had lots of players like you on this forum over the years.  They show up and tell us they never lose and the math always goes their way.  For some strange reason they all seem to drift away after a while.  I think it's wonderful that you have so much optimism.  If we could only put it in a book, we could make a million dollars.  But wait, that's already been done!I started my business when I was 21 years old and it's still around.   I worked hard so I could retire in my fifties.  I didn't work that hard so I could throw my money away in some casino.   If you want to risk your money hoping that royals will pop up on time, go for it.  I have more important things to do with mine.

I like to find the closest thing to solitude you can find in a casino while playing. The bar probably isn't the right choice for me if the same odds can be found on the floor.

I agree.  Playing VP at the bar isn't my all time favorite either.  Sometimes you do what you have to do...

I played at the 50 cent level for the first three months of this year. It wasn't that much different than quarters until I ran into a week long holocaust.

That will inter you. To hedge against it, I only want to resort to this strategy when behind after toiling for hours. Although doing it while ahead could have me riding a hot cycle into a nice gain.

Yeah. We have the same temperament. The bar does provide a gauge of what is hot and can be a useful thermometer. Too many rabid Type A personalities, though. The player who plays an adjacent machine while awaiting completion of his hand pay is utterly contemptible for me.
I never have played at a bar. Do the really offer better pay tables? It is common to find the best odds at the bar.  Always check there first.  I don't know why this is, but it's worth a shot.  For example, the Island View Bar in Gulfport MS has 9/6 quarter jacks or better.  Also the best quarter deuces wild odds in Biloxi are at one of the IP bars. Common? LOL no.

I do prefer the casinos that do put their best games at the bar though.

The problem is the facts. You'll lose twice as much playing dollars over quarters, regardless of the return, these are the facts. The only problem is they're not facts. If you have a budget for gambling, the budget is all you can lose. This budget if it goes, it goes, you're done.

I like playing higher, but limit the play based on the results. I'm not going to bet $50 a hand though, but if I do, it's probably just one or two. So on and so forth. I dont necessarily put a time limit or time minimum at the casino, but if I have to stay longer, but really don't want to spend much more, I'll drop my stakes as low as a nickel. When I do, it just makes me laugh when I win $20 for a nickel.

Why the need to insult and lie? I stated a simple fact.
Instead of getting a $2,000 Royal to catch up, now you need two $1,000 ones.   Unlike you, math doesn't lie.
Have I ever claimed to always win? Of course not, just more of your lies. Just today, I dropped $37, but I did get a free lunch out of it and $10 freeplay next visit.
At 21, I was serving my country. Started my first business at 25, turned 26 a month later. Unlike you, I'm happy to say I didn't work hard. I had a knack for hiring the right people and letting them bust their chops. Bought and sold five businesses and sold the last one at 47 and started buying and selling stuff on the internet. Found out I enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales and have an eye for hidden value. Would have moved here years ago, except for family obligations. As soon as they were done, I was out here. Right where I want to be.
I'm not going anywhere. Accept that and stop your lies and we just might get along.

In Vegas, I find better machines away from the bar, and also find most cigar bars have terrible games. I guess they figure they have a captive audience.
