Re: Single coin vs. max coin play
Phil and I have a certain facility with the machines' sometimes muffled elocution.
I'm am absolutely positive I do not have the gift of predicting when a jackpot will occur. However, I believe it is possible to take advantage of a deuces wild run and place yourself in a better position to cash in on a jackpot when and if one occurs. Does this work better than playing overall 100% games with optimal strategy? No. If it did, we could all move to Vegas and retire in luxury. However, by using a minimal betting scheme coupled with a system of increased bets during these runs, I believe you can positively affect the outcome of playing a serious negative video poker game. Experts will say this is impossible and total garbage. Before making your own decision, use Video Poker for Winners software and try it yourself for free.
You can not guess when these runs will happen, you need to let the game tell you.
This is the part I've apparently been missing all my life. Can you elaborate? What are the signs?
I have seen this pattern if you will call it that, I been playing a lot of JOB and go to max bet at a 3 of a kind, the paying hands start hitting like 5 in a row then one loser then another 4 or five winners then one loser then the 4 of a kind seems to hit soon after. Not sure why but its there and hit many 4ok on the max bet by pressing max bets in these runs. Seen the same in DW.

You got it, folks. Cash in on the run and run to the cashier. I hit a quad and a Straight Flush today for $54 net win. The ninety minutes preceding SF were very rocky. Not enough CS. Too much GS, Greed Strategy.

Results of session six. Started out on single coin dollar play as planned on a 9/6 machine. The Mrs. was playing in a different part of the casino on her favorite game, Double Super times pay 3 lines on nickels, playing DDB. The paytable is bad at 7/5, but somehow she manages to kill it almost every time. Tonight was no exception. She hit the low card quads multiple times with various multipliers. No Aces or Royals, but she did fine without it.
I only had to put one twenty in on the job machines and the quads kept hitting about 200 or less hands apart. Of course things like Aces quads twice, deuces quads, and quad 3's three times came in. Nevertheless, I was quite happy in turning a twenty into eighty bucks. For fear of the Mrs. knuckle busting ruler, I decided to cash out and put away fifty and just play ten bucks on an airport deuces machine with 5 quarters in. The plan was to give a quick shot, quit playing for the evening, and keep the Mrs. company as her game was still strong. It was getting really late anyway and we didn't even get there until after 10 pm.
The best is yet to come. After about a zillion hands played this year on single line job without a Royal, I was at least content that so far, the single dollar bet was working well for 6 straight sessions. After about the 4th hand on DW, I was dealt 3 high clubs. Not thinking much about it since I have seen a similar deal so many times before, I was wishing for a couple of deuces to at least complete a wild royal. Instead, up popped the King and Ten of clubs I need for the real Royal. I was thrilled of course, but actually more happy that my single coin dollar play on job is working well so far.

I guess most of us know about that GS strategy that keeps popping up. I used to run the 60 yard dash in school. I think I could still match or beat my time if the casino had a track straight to the cashier window or cashout machine. Good job. As the cheerleaders used to say in school....pushem back, pushem back,..waaaaay back.....As a matter of fact, I just ran into one of them the other day. Still a beauty too.

Quads were aplenty today. Not big money, but it beats losing. My first was at Bally's for $23 yield from $25 free play. Add a $25 crapshoot hit. I braved the elements for Borgata. Inserted $20; quad got me to $43. Lost it all. Insert $10, which hit $37 after my second $19 quad at the machine. Obnoxious neighboring couple hit four aces for $800! Upset at myself for staying, I sought out craps and was mollified with a $20 win. Don't throw stones, roll the bones! Back at Bally's, my $10 was dwindling. A max coin quad produced a $33.50 cash out. Same machine from the earlier quad. I will add it to my roster. There is at least that to file away.

Good job again FAA. Results of session 7 Sunday night are below. I probably won't keep posting about single coin dollar play unless it falls flat on its face for fear of boring everyone more than usual.
Quads were right on schedule and some nice full houses close together too. Put 60 in the bank ( pocket ) for next time and put 2 twenties in one of the DW machines in the same bank where I hit the Royal on Friday night. Just played straight 5 quarters. The machine started out good and hit 2 five of a kinds and a wild royal in the first ten minutes. I decided to hang in there with the machine and see what happens as it was still hitting the smaller stuff more than average.
This time I was dealt 3 high diamonds. Needed the king and ten and somehow I was able to draw both for the Royal. That means my 2 Royals were less than 2,000 hands apart. I know this can't continue, but I was really amazed how the entire year was dead as far as Royals go and then this. I don't expect to be able to make up the giant deficit by year end, but this is really nice and unexpected. The slot attendant said stuff like this happens all the time. Sometimes there are no jackpots to pay out for the entire evening and sometimes there are so many, they have trouble getting to everyone.
The rest of the story nobody is going to believe I don't think. I had an odd amount in the machine after the payout so after cashing the machine ticket, I decided to play the lowest denomination machine for an hour or so and then hit the hay since I had family commitments before noon today. I put fifteen bucks in the 2 cent spin poker machine which has awful odds on all of the games. I usually only play joker kings on this machine and at 20/5 and 4 for the flush, it is a bad one.
I was varying my bets between 3 lines and the max which is 9 and play the multiplier. In less than an hour this machine hit 3 Royals on different lines, 4 5 of a kinds, many quads, 2 straight flushes, 2 wild royals, and 5 quads each on their own line with a ten multiplier. There....I knew nobody would believe it...I couldn't either until I cashed out the ticket.
