A man believes being told an optimal strategy means the strategy is profitable, when it isn't, and rebels by playing a suboptimal strategy because he believes he will lose less every day because royals wont happen. He says no you fool, I won't play $1.25, I'll play $1, so I can see people losing five times me.

Not profitable, just economical when the RF is MIA. I did max to recoup a major loss today. $125Q + $62Q + $45FH ~ BE. Had to bolt my primary casino, aka Money Pit Supreme.

Sex panther, 60% of the time, it works every time. For some odd reason, Florida Phil ignores these kinds of posts like mine you responded to that directly question his beliefs and his belief of facts.

FP is off CS and cooled on VP in general in pursuit of slots and antique autos. Keep up. I prefer to cheap it out since I've had bad RF luck for 1.5 years. Royal insurance is currently off my menu. Enjoy contributing to the casino of your choice, though. They sure appreciate lemmings.

Pot Shots are an important part of my recreational VP play.  I am not an expert VP player, I'm a gambler.   You might say I'm a poor one, but I am a gambler nonetheless.  One thing we can agree on is that you don't have to be an AP to win with a pot shot.

I love to take them pot shots when down and heading for the door. They are on the smaller  side. My game is Bonus Deluxe. Say I go with $500 and get down to my last $100. I play $1 BDX for a shot at a $400 Four of a Kind. Would say it has payed off 50% of the time. Have only done it about 6 times this year but it is nice when it hits!

To use another metaphor, we're all rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. The max coiners have better pillows, but we're all going down with the VP ship.

Here's is a game where you are not shorted for less than max coins:Royal Aces Bonus from IGT (quad aces give 800 coins for one coin in).(IIRC Triple Kicker Poker from Bally/Gamemaker doesn't penalize the awak-800 coins paid on a single coin). I'm not advocating single coin play here, but there are players who read the forum who are going to play less than 5 coins and this game will help them out. You'll get quad aces about 1 in 4000 hands with proper discarding. So if you play 100 line RAB you'll be picking up these hands quite often (~ 1 in 40 hands on average). I think they offer this game in Spin Poker and Spin Poker deluxe also but I'm not 100% certain of this. If so, it is even more player friendly than 100 hand RAB.
Triple Double Bonus is a HUGE mistake with max coins. Aces w/kicker and the royal both typically get shorted to 400 for 1.

That drops 9/7 from 99.58% to 96.05%. Ouch!

Or you can be really dumb and not bet max on this game.

Max Coins 99.92%
1 to 4 Coins 90.34%!!!!
Getting paid triple on the 4 Deuces at max bet is key to playing Triple Deuces Wild obviously.
