I like employing the phrase on schedule to note quads coming every 400-500 hands on a trip. I know I’m playing fast/loose with the term. It just sounds good.

And TT, yes flawed thinking can be a way of life in gambling. Famous phrases, it’s due, or it has to come in, or in real life, I knew I shouldn’t have bought that stock, I knew that girl was going to be trouble, but she was beautiful so I had to ask her out anyway, or I knew those cars were lemons, but I bought one anyway, or I just did a quick patch job, hoping it would hold l. Had a nice trip to Bizarro even though we got a late start. Food was good as was VP overall, though subject to the usual streaks. I think there is one more pic coming from the Mrs. I started out like I said, strictly JOB quarters and waiting for just 3 losses before advancing the bet. It was on my second favorite machine. Quads were scarce, but the Clone came through again. After a few hours I was up 400 bucks. The next 2 hours were devoid of quads and at best I treaded water as my bets went up and down I didn’t hit quad deuces on the last session or so far today. I was getting very bored without any quads and few houses and was starting to slip backwards a bit. I probably shouldn’t have, but decided to chase the deuces and switched the game to Deuces Wild. I also decided to just play with my winnings from quarter JOB.

I started out on dollars another high risk adventure especially while only risking 300 bucks in winnings, but my premonition paid off in a few minutes. Pic attached. Later that evening I squandered 500 on Bonus Deuces Wild quarter spin poker hitting nothing good. I think I wasted a couple of hundred more on a dollar comeback attempt on dollar JOB. Cut that short in a hurry. The short version is I ended up a little over 500 ahead for the trip.

Excellent trip considering how much you ended up squandering. But you could have retained 85% of hand pay as profit instead of 35%. We always think we’re invincible after that big hit gets the endorphins firing.

Post your specific guidelines so he knows exactly what he's supposed to do.

My premonition tells me you would have had him quit before the jackpot, when he was +400. Am I wrong?

Exactly. If you think of it as a part time job, I should have quit at plus 200. If I lived 10 minutes from the casino, I would probably try and hit for 100 and run. I started out upping my bet anytime I lost a total of 3 hands without at least 2 pair. That is pretty aggressive. I switched to waiting for 4 hands without at least 2 pair ignoring pushes. Whenever I up a bet level, I don’t back down a unit unless I beat what I started with at that bet level. It is pretty straight forward. Usually you tread water not down more than a hundred or so. To get ahead a bunch you really need those full houses and quads at the higher bet levels. The safest way to play is to return to bet 5 quarters any time you have more than your starting amount you put in the machine. I like to start with 400 bucks. I have a lot of trouble backing down that far for fear I will miss a hot sequence of close together full houses and quads at the higher levels, but I really should do that. Of course a Royal is the icing on the cake. If I hit one every ten sessions or so, I consider myself lucky. I never seem to hit one as I should long term. One reason I guess is I bet against the math a bit by not keeping a single high card and a ten of the same suit. I just keep the high card. It just makes it easier on the Clone for me. I never count on hitting a Royal in any given session, but of course am thrilled when I do. I don’t want anyone to think this is a guaranteed way to make money. Long term it will probably catch up with me. It is just my way of managing my money. Finally, if you short coin which is yes a cheaper way to play, you will kick yourself in the butt long term. That I guarantee. Why give up that extra nearly 2 percent to the house.
