A couple of more Bizarro things to mention. On a positive note, the Cataract surgery (been 5 days now ) on my bad eye appears to be successful. On that eye, the colors are now bright and things are clear. Surgery coming up on my good eye in about 10 days.
On a VP note, check out the pics attached from my wife’s play on the recent trip above. Her usual game Nickel DDB Ultimate X was not kind to her Thursday evening ( glad she was my driver). Then her latest tactic which has worked so far is to play the remainder of her own bankroll on DDS Bonus Deuces Wild. Most know these are ancient machines and for some reason, the casinos do not replace them when they fail. They have a 3 percent house edge, so I don’t know why they Don’t. The only thing I can think of is the potential for huge jackpots on a dealt Royal.
Anyway, she did get bailed out on them and as mentioned above ended up 97 bucks ahead. Both of these hands on different machines were only a few minutes apart. Both have the same dealt cards being 3 deuces and 2 fours. The fours are even in the same suit. Now I have another reason to call my home casino BIZARRO WORLD.

One other Bizarro World note that I would love to repeat. In Bizarro World in 2016, I won exactly 18,000 bucks less than 12 hours apart on different machines, different games, and different amounts bet. I can’t even imagine the probability of that happening especially when I constantly vary my bet amounts per deal. Unfortunately, Bizarro got it back plus……,

AP sorry the Mrs and I missed you. I couldn’t travel till Thurs and even then the Mrs drove. We got there late Thursday and had to scoot on Friday. I hope Bizarro was generous to you this trip. My trips if all goes well should get more back to normal whatever that is around Mid November.

If I was smart, I would just play the machine that hasn’t beat me and nothing else until it does. If I lose the 60 bucks, just walk away, go back hours later and try again or just quit and hang out or go home. How many of us are really smart though when it comes to VP? I can’t say that I am a member of that club.

Inspired by a thread on another forum, I have a tracking idea. Sessions.

Consider for example the major league baseball results:




The Miami Marlins were outscored 723-666 during the season, but made the playoffs anyway because they won more sessions than they lost.

Each of your sessions would be the equivalent of a game. An ending profit counts as a W. An ending deficit counts as an L. If you finish the season with a winning record, you advance to the playoffs for a 5-game series against Mrs. Olds.

She just can’t be beat at VP. She has the luck of the Irish and with the 4 leaf clovers that CBK keeps sending, I have no chance. I put one in my pocket and first chance it got, it jumped into her purse while she was getting out tip money for the waitress!
I am going to track one thing though. That tall machine that hasn’t beat me so far. I want to keep records on that one. Many times I will play it 8 or even 12 hours later and I can tell by the cash out amount, nobody has played it since me. Eventually, if that continues, the bean counters will pull it I’m sure. For one thing, whether you play 3 line, 5line, or 10 line games, it will not let you bet more than bet 1 per line. You can advance the lines played at bet one only. Nobody likes that. When you try and bet 2 per line it jumps to 5 and if you try again it adds another 5 for the Ultimate x feature. IMO an absolutely stupid way to set up a machine, thus it barely gets any play. It is also located in a bad heavy traffic area of the casino near the drunk bar screamers when sports are on and they always are. On top of that it is located right near the entrance to the ladies room with drunk girls coming and going all the time or their drunk boyfriends looking for them. On top of that, I witness screaming sessions with the drunk couples almost every session and the drunk guys in the bar area sometimes almost come to blows with others as their teams lose and others cheer. A video of an hour of this on YouTube would go viral I am sure. Anyway, for now, I am content to hit a few bucks and run on this machine. On top of that, who wants to hear Buffalo all night from a blaring row of those machines immediately behind this one.

She clipped them on her usual play for 97 bucks and I dropped 300 on single line play Deuces. The Bizarro thing is still here. ( the machine that hasn’t beat me. ). I picked up 68 bucks on It when we first got there and 47 on our way out.

I think that's a standard limitation of Ultimate X. Possibly the designers wanted to thwart players from activating multipliers selectively. For example if line 1 has a 12x next hand multiplier but all the other line multipliers are blank, I could optimize value by playing line 1 only. But the design prevents me from doing so, except at minimum bet.

I haven't tried to think through the math of it.

I have tried some other triple play bonus deuces machines even without the ultimate X multiplier with the just under 99 percent paytable 20/13/4/3/3/1, tge 20 being the cheaper higher number quints and none of them will let you bet 2 per line etc. At least none of the ones I have found. Before Covid in 2016, I had that paytable on dollar spin poker and it was also an 800 for bet one Royal machine. When Bizarro reopened back up in 2020, they left the paytable intact but now you must bet 15 bucks a line to get paid the correct Royal amount. That is one of the machines I won 18k on by getting dealt quad deuces with the Ace. I protested of course and of course it fell on deaf ears. Nobody plays that machine now. For some reason, I find spin poker more streaky than triple play when playing 3 lines. I know the EV is the same, but the variance on spin poker must be higher as almost always spin poker paytables are higher than multi line play.
I used to run a lot of money through that machine and of course even with perfect play they would make over 1 percent on me. I ballparjed how much money a year I used to run through there by sbout 1.4 percent, showed them the numbers, and of course it fell on deaf ears and they wouldn’t reverse it back to 800 for bet one. Ok so now I am mostly a nickel and quarter player with a smattering of dollars and my yearly coin in is 1/3 of what it was. Their loss not mine. I dropped down a notch in status and as punishment took away my 24/7 comp rooms. Now I have to check every day to see if a comp room is available and book it immediately. I still find enough to go when I want to pretty much. I guess they don’t care that their take from me is 1/3 of what it was before 2020!! I tell you…..if I was the CEO of that business and saw that much money annually missing from their coffers, that would instantly change. And I am just one player. That particular machine was busy 18 hours out of 24. I would play it overnight. Now it sits idle. I know for sure there were a dozen or more of us who would try and get that machine at the same time. Wow that was a long winded post. I guess I should be thankful they still have quarter 9/6 JOB allowing bets up to bet 25. I just can’t win on it. When quads are scarce, and no Royals appear, even the Clone can’t beat it. I beat it one time only when no quads appeared for 6 hours straight and of course no Royals, but full houses were raining out of the sky. Even then I think I only grabbed a hundred bucks or so.
