thanks for the info. considering the state of the casino business, maybe it is time for the industry to re-think what the consumer wants. i am not a casino historian, but i believe steve wynn is considered the 'father' of the modern casino. he revolutionized vegas building and it seems like most new casinos have continued the idea of building mega properties. while there is still some need for these mega casinos, isn't there room for the 'bargain' casino, the wal mart place to gamble. i mean really, how many times do we use the pools, spas and all the other fancy stuff. just give me a safe, clean place that does steal my money and i will keep coming back. let the tourists have the mega places and the bad odds. is it possible that with all the problems facing CET, AC and so many other properities, things could change for the better?

They are not as "Sexy" or make the splash BIG Resorts make, but hey, for most players they are exactly what we all want.....The demand and market for MEGA RESORT "EXPERIENCE" was saturated long ago......and now they are dying a slow death in many areas (and CET was the primary culprit with its massive expansion of these exact type of resorts)The reason this happened is simple: most of the so-called "HOST" communities who allowed casino gambling to sprout up in their backyards, did so with the desire to see a HUGE MEGA RESORT with all its "JOBS" and tax revenue making their community prosperous! A small Boutique, BASIC style casino with only the minimum does not appear to offer the same "BENEFITS" a HUGE place offers......everyone see that???hence the proliferation of MONSTROUS CASINO RESORT "DESTINATIONS!!!"

Gee, wasn't Atlantic City licensing smaller casinos? Or passing legislation to do so?
