9/6 Royal Aces Input Needed

Post by Lucky Larry »

Anybody play Royal Aces Bonus?

Have watched two people dealt 4 Aces in the past two weeks on multi-hand. So I got curious about RA. I started practicing and playing a few hands each trip. Our local has 9/6 on 100 hand - 5¢ play. Data from VPgenius indicates 70% no hit probability so I think this would make the game high volatility,

But 4 Aces = 4,000 RF pay off with 4 Aces on average every 4000 hands making it a possible worthwhile proposition. LL

Tried playing 5-10 hands while practicing in the past 3 trips. First night hit 4 Aces on a five hand play followed by 2 - 4 Aces on a ten hand play about a dozen hands later - up $600. Then cold for 50 hands and had to switch games.   Last night 4 Aces on 10 hand play early and again cold followed by a long (50-60 hands) spell of up and down 30-40% and then a big hit to bring me back even before frigid spell set in for over 50 hands straight down!

As I am just beginning to play RA any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

LL

Royal Aces Bonus Pay Table

Royal Flush              4,000
Straight Flush                  500
Four Aces                       4,000
Four 2,3,4                  400
Four 5-K                          250
Full House                   45
Flush                           30
Straight                           20
Three of a Kind           15
Two Pair                            5
Pair of Aces                     5

The frequency for a RF jumps up to 1:45K and it takes two pair or a pair of aces for a simple bet return. I am intrigued because the 4 Aces comes every 4,000 hands on average. Three out four times I have played I have hit 4 Aces. But it appears to be real volatile. If you don't hit early you are out of luck or broke!!!

Right on. The extra value for the quad aces comes at the expense of face card pairs. This adds a significant amount to the variance.

Yikes yea, reminds me of Joker Poker, which is worse I wonder?  I normally see Pair of Kings or better.  Or there is a game called 5 aces pays 6000 but it also has Pair of Aces or better and this game will eat your money hand over fist.

I'll stick to Super Aces.
