Odd Loose Deuces paytable

Post by damule »

I was at a local indian casino outside Phoenix today checking out the video poker pay tables. I hadn't been at this particular casino in a few years and wanted to check out the inventory. Some of the older indian casinos around here have improved their game returns recently due to the newer, bigger casinos opening closer to downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe. Surprisingly I found some nice paytables: NSU deuces 16/10 (99.73%) single line quarters and half-dollars, DDB 9/6 (98.98%) single line half-dollars and dollars and TDB 9/6 (appr 98%). However, the oddest pay table popped up when I looked at the single line deuces wild dollars. The game was labeled deuces wild at the bottom of the screen and no where on the machine was it indicated that this was a loose deuces game.

The pay table was as follows for 5 coin-in ($5):

Royal Flush          4000
4 Deuces            3000
Wild Royal Flush     125
5 of a kind               50
Straight Flush           40
4 of a kind               20
Full House                15
Flush                       10
Straight                    10
3 of a kind                  5

By my calculations, the return on this pay table is over 100.7%. I'm not sure, but the flush may even have returned 15 but I don't think so. If it did, the return would be over 102%. I have never seen loose deuces pay over 2500 coins, most only return 2000 around here. Could the casino have made a mistake and selected the wrong odds on the prom, or did I just find a hidden gem? No one else on this bank was playing this game, in fact they were mostly playing keno as it was a new Game-King with video poker, keno and some reel slot game. I'm not going to share which casino this is right now as I need to return and do a little more scouting to see if this was an isolated machine or if this is just the regular pay table for deuces dollars there.

I'm curious if anyone has ever seen this paytable before, and if so how common or uncommon is it?

This looks like a variation on the Triple Deuces game. The only difference is the WRF which is usually 100. This leads to a return of 99.92% and a pretty high variance. It's a pretty good game is you can stand the losses between hitting quad deuces.

shadow,

Thanks for the quick reply. Yep, I looked it up on wizardofodds.com, it is Triple Deuces Wild. However, I'm certain the wild RF paid 125 not 100, which The Wizard doesn't even list as a derivitive pay table. Makes me think even more now I need to go back tomorrow and look at that flush pay and see if indeed it is 15 and not 10. The other oddity is on the bottom of the screen the game was labeled Deuces Wild, not Triple Deuces Wild. That would be like labeling Double Double Bonus just Bonus Poker on the bottom. Very odd.

Right you are shadow. I misread the pay table, must have confused the nsu deuces with the triple deuces. The WRF pays 100 for exactly a 99.92% return.

poker,

The casino I played at yesterday was Vee Quiva. I have found some good pay tables at Fort McDowell as well.

Triple Deuces can be found in the old Bally Gamemakers in .25,.50.$1 at the Pioneer in Laughlin.  They are just labeled "Deuces Wild" on the touch screen.Loose Deuces usually has a 2500 payoff for a five coin bet.
