This past weekend I was in Tunica and a woman was playing next to me and she was a "gum cracker." After several minutes I politely asked her to stop and, much to my surprise, she did.

I was not in Joliet,IL this Memorial Day weekend and I've never played the bartop games there either.

Kill them with kindness is my motto.what if she said "no", or worse, ignored you and increased her cracking of the gum?   what is your play then?I only ask because this type of question or request falls into the category I love to exploit whereby people who make such requests are seldom, if ever, prepared for the answer(s) they are NOT looking for or expecting.    I agree with everyone here that there are many annoying things perpetrated by players in casinos....but unlike many of you, I really do try and not allow them to distract or impact me and my play....the way I see it is, unless a person is deliberately trying to hurt someone or being unsafe, whatever they want to do when being blowing their money in a casino is fair play......it's their right, just like it's MY right to do something that might annoy others.....its also my right to take my money and go play somewhere else.    I am prone to sometimes making wild arm and hand movements when playing certain machines......I will go into wind-ups, or exagerrated  arm flailing when pressing buttons, and I will sometimes really slam it home......but I often have a method to my madness in that my arms and hands get really sore or stiff or fall asleep, and in order to improve circulation I will do funny things once in a while.BUT......there are some things, and some people who really do press the limit of tolerance and the exercising of one's "RIGHTS"........take for instance, the inevitable player who really really STINKS.....and i dont mean in playing ability, I mean REALLY STINKS.....as in odiferous emanations.....as in "What the fack is that smell?!?!"  ...as in "Ack ack cough wheeze.......I cannot breathe!!!!'Someone in a previous post mentioned BO (as in Body Odor)......I have literally had people who smelled so bad they cleared out HUGE portions of the entire casino floor, and their stench literally lingered and wafted LONG after they moved on......the type of smell where you are BEGGING someone to sit next to you and smoke 4 cigarettes at once or lite up a cigar the thickness of a Bratwurst.

Oh I have a few favorite words, expressions, Italian salute, etc. I give my machine too. I think I am going to have to keep one of those two fisted cigars in my pocket. Good idea when needed.

My "play" then; would be to call a slot host over. Just what else would you have expected from me?

Please feel free to continue on your fishing trip.

All of this stuff cited is why I enjoy playing in the middle of the night and early morning the most. Get almost any machine you want, enjoy the music, take a break or a long walk around the casino, BS with the late shift people you know etc. The only downside is the occasional stray drunk or smoker that comes into the no smoking section. If I can't handle those people myself without getting kicked out or banned, I just get security. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Wish I could handle those situations " my way ", but unfortunately I wouldn't be invited back to that or any other local casino anytime soon.

Many refer to those types as "slappy". I've got one in AC who must be on crack. Hits the deal/draw button 3-4 times and slaps the heck out of everything. Lucky for me he's usually there on Friday/Saturday nights and I'm not but when we meet up there is always tension in the air. Also they like to play in the only smoking row of STP in the entire casino and then his wife complains about the smoke. A double whammy.

Normally when I get a slapper they are in and out quick so I will take a break waiting for them to choke out on their twenty dollar bill and move on.

It is very annoying.

I'm with you, Olds. I like the early morning, especially in Vegas. You get to see all the girls coming back from the clubs, walking barefoot, carrying their stiletto heels.

Remember, though, that a casino is the BEST place to have a fight, as long as the other guy throws the first punch. It's all on tape.

You might like this one Billy. Hope the Mrs. doesn't read this somewhat innocent comment. Not long ago, the clubs got out like usual and I was parked at a machine on their usual trail. It was very little black dress night ( no cover charge for the girls). 4 beautiful though somewhat drunk young ladies asked me how to play poker and " hung " out at my machine for several minutes watching my now greatly slowed down play. Two had to lean on me to slip off the heels to help their sore feet. . Anyway, a few minutes later they moved on, and I suspect I made a few mistakes in the cards I held.

Remember, though, that a casino is the BEST place to have a fight, as long as the other guy throws the first punch. It's all on tape. UNLESS....the guy happens to be a 6'5", 260lb Ex-commando or professional boxer, in which case you will have the privilege of being in the right......DEAD right ..... But you are smart enough, billyjoe, to never pick a fight with someone bigger than thyself, right????    UNLESS.....HE happens to be a 5 foot nothing clone of JET LI or some Ninja master......  But I can tell billyjoe's true mantra is Something like "I'm not a fighter, I'm a lover!" ????
