Re: Trip Report
Back in the late 80's and early 90's, the wife and I would make several trips a year down to Harrah's Marina. We liked it very much. How is that casino treating everyone nowdays? We haven't been able to get back down that way due to the folks situation and I have to be close to home almost all of the time.

You must be telepathic, Olds. Harrah's is a soothing respite from the weekend wackiness and throngs which prevail at the boardwalk properties. I was just there briefly and came to regret abandoning it early to get back to the AC strip! Full pay games, great service, modern layout and eateries. Between them and Borgata, why gamble beyond the Marina? The atmosphere disparity is readily apparent. I feel such tranquility and relief in the Marina.

Right on target FAA. The only way I would go back to a boardwalk property is if the paytables were significally better. They aren't.

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded." -Yogi Berra
Pay tables are identical, of course. We may as well choose the superior environment, with less stress and aggravation. Maybe we have boardwalk fatigue, Car. Maybe we are simply fed up. Time to leave the familiar territory. The grass beyond is both greener and less trampled.

Played 1&1/2 hrs at Borg $1.00 Job Friday afternoon. Up $400. Lots of small winning hands plus 3 quads. Still down a little under 5k for the year. Mostly on newer server based units.

I lost $80 in a painful 1.5 hours at Borgata today. That's the last time I play dollars, or play outside the bar, or bring my morning winnings to a second casino. Major behavior modification is necessary. It was just pure pain. The football promo drew me to ruin again.

Today's trip report is slightly better. I somehow turned $25 FP into $65 at Caesars. One $12 quad. I saved $40 in my bag. I should have saved the entire amount. My JOB act did not travel well. I took $45 to the Marina. I won $20 in two hours at Harrah's. But I lost the $65 in the third hour. No lunch; too busy seeking a quad. I ran $650 through my primary machine for over 850 hands. Teo MIA quads not arriving on schedule and it's almost break even. $15 hourly loss at Horrors.

Solid day at a trio of casinos. I had measly $13.50 from $25 FP. Lost it. A whopping $3 win from two other machines, and that includes a $19 quad. Someone rolled a six twice for me for $25. Mad about the puny VP win. Hit another machine, lost $15. Then three to a straight flush. They came for a sweet $62.50 max win. I demonstrated my 24" vertical leap. I hit up Borgata for a $19 win. Wrapped up with a $10 Bally's win. No time for lunch. Dinner will be swell.
